During my visit to Nepal, I had the pleasure of dining at Samaya Rooftop Gatden, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Kathmandu. The atmosphere was welcoming, with a cozy blend of traditional Nepali décor and modern touches.
The menu had a delightful mix of local and international dishes, but I couldn’t resist trying the authentic Nepali thali. It was an explosion of flavors, from the tangy pickles to the savory dal and perfectly spiced curries. The momos were another highlight—soft, juicy, and paired with an incredible dipping sauce.
The staff were attentive and eager to explain each dish’s significance, making the experience more immersive. The view from the rooftop dining area was stunning, with the Himalayas in the distance adding a serene backdrop to the meal.
I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Nepal, whether you're craving local cuisine or just want to enjoy a meal in a...
Read moreThis is my second time at Samaya and this time I went on Valentine’s Day as this was my first time celebrating it in Kathmandu. The cafe was decorated beautifully for the occasion, and much better than what I’ve seen in the USA. The ambience was warm, welcoming, and pleasant. The tables were decorated and even had complimentary bites (little dessert heart cookies).
I’ve previously had and loved their Buff Chowmein and Buff Momo. This time I decided to try their Pork Chop as it came highly recommended by my friend and I must say, it did not disappoint! The pork was cooked to perfection and the potato wedges and veggies that came with it were also delicious.
I ended the meal with a chocolate brownie with ice cream (soooo good! Must try) and a cappuccino. Overall food was top notch, and the ambience was amazing. My favorite spot in Thamel, Kathmandu hands down!
A must visit...
Read moreRecently visited Samaya Rooftop Garden with my friends at evening and we had a wonderful time. The restaurant is located on the 6th floor of a building and offers a stunning view of the city, especially the Swoyambhu temple. The ambiance is cozy and romantic, with a fireplace in the evening and soft music playing in the background.
The menu has a variety of dishes, from Nepali to Continental, and the portions are generous. We ordered the chicken chilly, the paneer chilly, the all cheese pizza, and the fried corn. Taste of the food didn't meet my expectations but it was well-presented, and the service was attentive and friendly. The staffs are very courteous and helpful. The prices are on quite higher side compared to other restaurants.
However it is recommend to visit once and enjoy the...
