The Local (Thamel) — Restaurant in Kathmandu Metropolitan City

Did not have a good experience tbh. Had to wait half an hour or more to get an ice coffee. Other friends and family waited the same if not more for virgin mojito and other sort of drinks that they need to make.

The thai curry did not have enough sauce. When we asked for more, we literally got like 50cl of sauce from the chef. Everywhere else in the world, thai curry or any curries comes with plentiful of sauce. Here is a different case.

Also the music was very very loud. Normally, we can tolerate loud music but here, you couldn't even hear yourself think. Had to talk to the employee and ask him to turn the bass down.

Anyways, will not recommended this place to anyone. It has potential but is hugely let down by the service and the fact that people working there are unaware of simple things such as...

I do not like giving negative reviews. But, this one is very important. I went here today. Honestly, the mocktail was really good n well made. We then ordered hukka which took way long wait time. But, we waited patiently. The mustang aalu was just fine. I would say that it could be better. We couldn’t eat it full as it was too exotic. We ordered fish grilled. I am not sure if they even grilled it. It came to us in pieces on plate. It looked over cooked, had lots of oil and was definitely pan fried n not grilled. The cucumbers on side were to ripped n not tasty. Fish itself was overly marinated n had hilariously huge amounts of salt whereas the dipping sauce was full of lime n was too exotic flavour n beyond edible. Fries can improve too.

mustang aloo was just wow, crunchy on the outside mushy in the inside with near perfect seasoning. pork chilli was too less according to price, pieces were less with more fatty portions. fried rice was very average. veg momo was unexpectedly good. hukka was fine as well. place is cozy with option to play pool and chess. i like the place to be a good hangout place for friends. the management should moderate their customers here, there were a few underage kids smoking. their toilet was very poor, being on a tourist area they should...
