Baibua Thai Restaurant, Amsterdam – A Hidden Gem Bursting with Flavor Tucked away in a quiet side street at Geelvincksteeg 6H, 1017 BE Amsterdam, Baibua Thai Restaurant is a true hidden gem for anyone seeking authentic, flavorful Thai cuisine. Despite its modest size, this cozy restaurant delivers a huge impact on taste and quality, making it one of the standout dining experiences in the city. We ordered the Thai Red Curry with Chicken, Cashew Chicken, and a Mix Starter Platter. Each dish was prepared using Halal ingredients, which was a wonderful highlight for diners with dietary preferences. From the first bite, it was clear: this was a party in the mouth. The flavors were bold, vibrant, and perfectly balanced — a testament to the chef’s mastery of traditional Thai cooking techniques. The Thai Red Curry was a standout, with a creamy, aromatic sauce that carried just the right amount of heat, enveloping tender pieces of chicken. The Cashew Chicken offered a delightful contrast — lightly crisped chicken tossed with roasted cashews and fresh vegetables in a savory sauce that was both comforting and addictive. The Mix Starter Platter provided a wonderful variety of textures and flavors, from crispy spring rolls to succulent satay, making it a perfect beginning to the meal. One of the most reassuring aspects of Baibua was the visible attention to detail. The kitchen was spotless, and it was clear that cleanliness and presentation were top priorities. Every dish arrived beautifully plated, showcasing the care and pride the chef puts into their craft. In summary, Baibua Thai Restaurant may be small in size, but it offers an unforgettable culinary experience. With its warm hospitality, immaculately prepared dishes, and exceptional flavors, it’s a must-visit for both locals and visitors looking to enjoy authentic Thai food in Amsterdam. Highly recommended — this is one hidden gem you’ll be glad you found.

Update summer 2023 As expected, unfortunately this place is not worthy anymore, I went several times now and no, not the same anymore, the fish curry is a different thing, barely variety of fish inside and with a weird different taste. For this reason I started ordering and trying other dishes and again the green curry was weak, just coconut milk and some floating veggies. Disappointed Why the quality of placed downgrades once they have a good review score and loyal customers? No more recommended sadly The pics here are from when it was a great restaurant. FYI Surprisingly good! We only ordered pad Tai, vegetarian, with pork and one with shrimps. All super good and tasty. The one with shrimp was a bit pricey but the fish was super fresh, so it's fair enough. Only one euro more expensive than any other Thai restaurant in the city. Friendly staff. A lot of seats outdoor. Portions of the pad tai were also good enough. Please do not change. When a restaurant starts being popular and appreciated, I see that quality starts going down, price up and portions small...keep it this way. I will come back to try out se more Thai food. Pad tai is one of the easiest dish. Curious to try the rest out.updare 25/3/22: took fish green curry, massaman curry. Both outstanding! Great service as usual. So friendly. Price with 2 soft drinks 43.00 EUR

The experience was so so as it has some good points regarding some dishes and some not good points. For the good points: - Staff is fast - Food: I recommend you try fried rice, som tam (papaya salad, I really like the spicy of the sauce), also the chicken stirred fried with garlic and pepper. Lastly, green curry quite matches with white rice For the could be improved points: - Dessert: I’m a dessert lover so sorry for going in a weird order ;) the fried ice cream is not good as it has a little ice cream in it, the flour batter outside is thick and oily. It's also pity that Thai mango sticky rice also felt me, the sticky rice and mango are delish in their own way, not in a dish, which they’re supposed to be. - Main dish: I was shocked because of the saltiness and sourness of the tom yum, It has the spicy but yeah, still weird. Pad Thai would be better if the noodles are not so soggy and sticky It’s quite cold yesterday when our group came and we sat outside, because it didn’t have enough spaces inside. The staff should have informed my friend in advanced when he booked the reservation. Good food somehow but not a 100% satisfied experience. Thank you for reading till this far :3

We found this place online and decided to have a dinner with our family. We walked into the restaurant. The place looked a bit old but more importantly there was a problem with the ventilation. You could feel the steam and the mix of what was being cooked in the kitchen. The waitress came and we ordered. There was a chaos in the restaurant. Waitress was a bit rude. We wanted order another item from the menu and it took three different waitresses to get it ordered. Food came. My son ordered Tom yong soup with chicken which was was not good at all. I am not sure what they used as chicken but it had black stripes on some of the pieces; so he skipped that. He then ordered noodles with veggies. That wasn’t bad. I ordered Pad Thai with shrimp. It was also not bad, although I had a better ones. Later, I asked for the bill. I had to pay with my credit card so I went to back side of the restaurant when you could see the kitchen on a lower level. I could now see why and where the steam was coming from. I think the worst part was how the kitchen look. It was a relatively small kitchen but it look not so clean. So, I certainly do not agree with people giving 4 stars for this place. One star is good enough...
