MANAGING EXPECTATIONS
I must admit the wine is pretty good here and the atmosphere is nice. HOWEVER the SERVICE is out right rude. The blond girl with the short hair that works there... If you are not happy at your job, I would suggest you find another that does NOT involve customer service.
YOU ARE rude and need a lesson in bar service.
I was waiting happily to be be seated there last night 21/9/17 when another customer stepped in and was greeted before I was (mind you it was packed so I wanted to obviously get a table) I politely raised that I was here first...
The blond girl then turned around to me and said... RUDELY, I am talking to her and you can wait.
I don't usually right harsh reviews but this girl needed to be outed.
On top of that... I found hair on my food, when the same girl came up to us and asked us in her most un-sincere nicety if everything was ok - I told her all is fine except for the hair in my food... to which she turned around and said.. oh I'm sorry, let me get you a fresh plate. Not offering a new dish or taking that dish out of the bill.
Dear Blond girl with the short hair... FIND A NEW JOB! and while you're at it GET A NEW PAIR OF PANTS.
Sincerely ONE...
Read moreWhat a great night. I love that the menu is small, it usually means you will get excellent quality as the focus is tight on each dish. The atmosphere in the restaurant is lovely, dimly lit and cosy, perfect for a date or casual catch up with a small group of friends. The wines are excellent, an amazing selection which you can sample before committing to the whole glass. The front of house team are a delight, kind, knowledgeable and not pushy. The food was absolutely delicious. Owing to a very large lunch I wasn“t incredibly hungry but knew I had to come here. I had the artichoke and sourdough with shrimp butter. It was simply the largest artichoke I“d ever seen, meaty and perfectly cooked with smoked egg mayo. Simple but so delicious and the shrimp butter with the fresh sourdough was amazing. The dessert of cardamom ice cream with strawberries and candied pine cones was a real treat. I had no idea pine cones were edible but they were delicious. This is truly a fine dining experience in a relaxed setting which is a gem, my only negative point that as a solo traveller I couldn“t try more things! I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHereās Had an awesome evening at Bar Centraal! š· The wine selection is fantastic, with our absolute favorite being the Virose, an orange Gewurztraminer that combines two of my favorite thingsāwhat a delicious combo!
We tried a few dishes: started with the truffle toast, which was rich and indulgent, and followed it with a beautifully fresh plate of shaved veggies. For the main, we had tender, flavorful octopus, and we wrapped up with some top-notch ice cream for dessert. The portions could be a bit more generous, especially given the price, but the taste and creativity shine through.
With only two waiters, service is a bit stretched, but once we had their attention, they were fantasticāattentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. Thank you to the whole team for a memorable dinner with delicious, creative food, incredible wine, and a relaxed, welcoming vibe. Canāt...
