We had lunch at this restaurant, which I recommended since I had been there one time before. Only this time the service was a TOTAL disaster.

We ordered the Peking Complete Menu for two persons, €35 per person. It included a starter of soup, a maincourse of rice and an arrangement of different types of meat and vegetables and then a dessert where your choice was either icecream or a coffee.

We were served the starter, and shortly after the main course was brought to the table. The food was just as nice as last time I was there, nothing to complain about there.

After we finished our food, the staff members decided to have lunch (all 4 of them) at another table. It was only after 8-10 minutes the waittress took our plates and cutlery, however she still left the soup bowls and the larger platter. Then the waittress sat down at the other table in the middle of cleaning ours, and had lunch again.

During the roughly 15 minutes we waited further, the waittresses had time to give orders to delivery drivers coming in and placing new customers at their tables. All while walking past our half-cleaned table multiple times, on their way back to their own table to eat lunch.

After waiting nearly 30 minutes for the rest of our table to be cleaned and our desserts, we decided to leave.

The staff had no problem rushing up to the counter to take our money, but giving us a dessert we had paid for was apparently too much of a hassle.

We told them about the situation, and we got the excuse that they had simply "forgot us". Although walking past our table atleast 6-8 times in the duration of us waiting. They offered the dessert, but we had simply spent enough time waiting, and didn't have time as we wanted to explore more of Amsterdam.

No ammount of money was taken off our bill, and we still paid the full amount even though we never got what we paid for.

Dissapointing experience from a restaurant that I have talked so great about after my first visit. Will definitely not be visiting again if I happen to come by Amsterdam. Simply the worst customer service I have ever experienced in...

It is very seldom actually give a negative review for a place (review my profile) but this restaurant provided poor food and mediocre service. Worse still, the owner came out yelled at us, shoved me, tried to take my phone when I tried to record his volatile behavior and yelled at my wife repeatedly to shut up.

First the food we ordered - the chili chicken - was the most salty dish we have ever had in our lives (no joke). It made us sick from just a few bites and permeated everything else. They offered to replace it and when they did, we asked for no salt, but the next dish also had exceeding amounts of salt. They brought a third dish to replace it, but before we ate it, the owner came out and started yelling at us, calling us “troublemakers” demanding that we pay (I never said we would not pay and ultimately we did). I asked the owner to calm down and not yell. He did not listen and became just more volatile. I took out my phone to record him and he tried to take my phone and shoved me. My wife tried to discuss with him and he yelled at her to shut up. We then made the choice to call the police rather than see an escalation.

Ironically, the food was otherwise OK, the service was not good, as other reviews reported, I had to get up several times to ask for water and rice.

This was an event that was needless and unnecessary. Had the owner not escalated the situation. Despite the poor service and the bad food, I had every intention of paying. All I really wanted was an apology in particular to my wife.

The whole event was surreal… We have been traveling around the world extensively and I always had great experiences and virtually every restaurant we have gone to. Contrary to what the owner said we are not “troublemakers” and always appreciative of the service we receive.

I don’t know, maybe the owner was having a really bad day. I don’t wish anything bad for him or his place. I only hope that seeing this review and looking at my other reviews, he will see that I am not “a troublemaker“ and have the goodness in his heart to apologize to my wife for his...

I visited this restaurant many years ago and I was thrilled by the taste of the food, the friendliness of the staff and the cozy atmosphere. So now, almost 6 years later, I got the chance to visit it again and I was not disappointed, on the contrary!! The food was again heavenly and we enjoyed every bite... even simple dishes like green beans they manage to transform in delight. Also, it is very clear that the owners of this restaurant respect and value their customers very much because every although they have already the label of "Best Asian restatement in Amsterdam", still they serve the food beautifully presented and in very nicely decorated plates. We had to wait a little bit in a line outside the restaurant and could talk to the people who were queuing as well and each of them mentioned that they visit this restaurant many times and don't mind waiting a little bit for the best possible food. A bonus is that the beautiful waitress manages the queue very efficiently and that we didn't have to wait very long. And it was all worth it. The portions served here, and that shows again how this restaurant values and respects their customers, are large enough, probably for many more than large enough. And, like in our case as we couldn't finish all the food, they have us 2 boxes to take the food home. Again, a wonderful experience and you should experience this restaurant at least once in your lifetime! What makes this restaurant also very special is that they prepare "Si-Chuan" style food... this is a very authentic way of making Chinese food using very special sichuan pepper giving this food a very unique and unforgettable taste. One last fun remark: when I visited this place many years ago with a friend from New York, we asked to the cook to prepare the hot pot as spicy as he would prepare it for himself... as we both like spicy food, we didn't regret it at all, and although very spicy, it kept all the rich flavors of the food. This cook is a true magician with food. Highly...

No.91 beef pot was delicious €22 and no.6 dumpling. However, the sweet pork was a scam where it didn't look like the menu. The waitresses are young and beautiful and acted fast. They could be friendlier while serving the food. A sudden pop out with hot dishes in the small area without wishing is not normal to dutch dining. Dishes came quick! Total bill cost €60 with 2 tap beers. Price is expansive comparing with the portion, service, environment, comfortability and hygiene level. Food is insanely oily. I agree with some opinions below that the food wasn't spicy at all. Even with 2 spicy indication. Maybe not a Sichuan restaurant? I like that they have a different menu. Hesitated after inconsistent menu - reality. Concern:- There was a black cat lingering in the unseated area at the back, sometimes crawling under the chairs of customers. I saw the cat sprong up the table. A waitress later let the cat went away and put on utensils because it was Saturday busy evening. But she did NOT clean the table. Is this hygenic?Further, a waitress just sneezed without covering her mouth or washed hand afterwards in front of the tissues, utensils and plates corner. Toilet wasn't clean. As mentioned by others, we also got an extra order forgotten. Service seems to be nicer to blond customers.
