Chong Kee — Restaurant in Amsterdam

This was, without question, the worst takeout I’ve had in Amsterdam over the past decade. Every dish I ordered was drowned in the same unappetizing, gloopy sauce that obliterated any potential flavor. It didn’t matter if it was rice, chicken, or vegetables—everything tasted exactly the same: bland and uninspired.

I was starving, so I gave it a try, but I instantly regretted it. The texture of the food was off, the sauce was cloying and tasteless, and even the presentation was unappealing. Nothing stood out as remotely enjoyable, and it all felt like it had been thrown together with no care or effort.

I absolutely hate wasting food, but this meal left me no choice. I couldn’t justify putting my body through another bite, let alone saving the leftovers. The entire experience was a disaster. Frankly, I wouldn’t be surprised if this place frequently changes its name just to keep unsuspecting customers from catching on to how bad it is.

If you value your taste buds, your money, or your time, do yourself a favor and skip this place entirely. It was a colossal waste, and I’ll never make the mistake of ordering...

One of the rudest customer service. The food arrived an hour early. I call them to tell them that they delivered an hour too early and they just went like "yeah so what now?", I was like well don't you think that's a little extreme? And he's just like yeah contact thuisbezorgd. They offered a 10% discount as "refund". Delivery took extremly long (1.5 hours!) and when I called for the ETA, I didn't even receive an apology. The food itself is fine, a nice variety of vegetables in the tjap choi and mihoen with chicken, even to the point where I would've liked a bit more mihoen then vegetables in the dish.
