Review for Firma Stroop
Walking into Firma Stroop is like stepping into a dream made of caramel and warm spices. The moment you push open the door, the intoxicating aroma of freshly made stroopwafels wraps around you like a cozy blanketâthick, buttery, and laced with hints of cinnamon and vanilla. Itâs impossible to resist.
Watching the golden-brown waffles come off the press, dripping with rich, gooey syrup, is mesmerizing. The first bite? Absolute perfectionâcrispy on the outside, warm and chewy in the center, with the syrup oozing out just enough to coat your fingers in sticky, delicious chaos. Sure, itâs a mess. But trust me, itâs the kind of mess you welcome with open arms (and maybe a few extra napkins). Thankfully, the shop provides the best wet wipes, which somehow make the whole indulgent experience even better.
And I have to mention the girls who work hereâabsolute angels. Theyâre friendly, quick, and clearly love what they do, making the entire experience even more special. Whether youâre grabbing a classic stroopwafel or one of their special variations, itâs worth every crumb and every bit of syrup on your hands.
Donât just walk past this placeâgo in, take a deep breath, and surrender...

Attendant was inconvenient throughout our visit. We sat down on a table and she kept coming and going all the time, scratching a friend as she passed by, clearly trying to throw us out despite the closing time being 2h later.
After some time (really not that long. We stayed there for 7 min or so) the asked us to leave. We are not the loud and annoying type of clients and were nothing but polite to the ladies.
Funny thing: they kept accepting other clients immediately after we left. We saw 4 people come in and be served in the next 5 minutes.
If you donât want clients to sit on your tables, let them know earlier so they can find a suitable place to eat. Trying to make their experience as bad as possible so they leave is unacceptable.
Waffle was not any more special than in other friendlier environments.

Read moreCompared to some of the other reviews Iâve read on here, I definitely have not had it the worst, but I absolutely must forewarn anyone coming to Amsterdam to avoid this bakery at all costs. It seems Iâm not the only one who thinks the prices are extortionate. I came in and asked how much churros were, and the lady saw I had âŹ10 in my hand so charged me the full âŹ10 for 7 churros. I brushed this off as standard Amsterdam pricing, but after looking at some reviews I have to agree that the staff just make up prices on the spot. No prices listed at all so they can just make it up. The churros themselves were somewhat okay, they had no sugar on them so tasted a little weird though. Definitely not worth âŹ10. Please avoid at all costs. For the love of god ask how much things are before buying too - and then you can walk away if they try and charge...
