Review for Firma Stroop

Walking into Firma Stroop is like stepping into a dream made of caramel and warm spices. The moment you push open the door, the intoxicating aroma of freshly made stroopwafels wraps around you like a cozy blanket—thick, buttery, and laced with hints of cinnamon and vanilla. It’s impossible to resist.

Watching the golden-brown waffles come off the press, dripping with rich, gooey syrup, is mesmerizing. The first bite? Absolute perfection—crispy on the outside, warm and chewy in the center, with the syrup oozing out just enough to coat your fingers in sticky, delicious chaos. Sure, it’s a mess. But trust me, it’s the kind of mess you welcome with open arms (and maybe a few extra napkins). Thankfully, the shop provides the best wet wipes, which somehow make the whole indulgent experience even better.

And I have to mention the girls who work here—absolute angels. They’re friendly, quick, and clearly love what they do, making the entire experience even more special. Whether you’re grabbing a classic stroopwafel or one of their special variations, it’s worth every crumb and every bit of syrup on your hands.

Don’t just walk past this place—go in, take a deep breath, and surrender...

Worse customer experience we had in Amsterdam.

Attendant was inconvenient throughout our visit. We sat down on a table and she kept coming and going all the time, scratching a friend as she passed by, clearly trying to throw us out despite the closing time being 2h later.

After some time (really not that long. We stayed there for 7 min or so) the asked us to leave. We are not the loud and annoying type of clients and were nothing but polite to the ladies.

Funny thing: they kept accepting other clients immediately after we left. We saw 4 people come in and be served in the next 5 minutes.

If you don’t want clients to sit on your tables, let them know earlier so they can find a suitable place to eat. Trying to make their experience as bad as possible so they leave is unacceptable.

Waffle was not any more special than in other friendlier environments.

Compared to some of the other reviews I’ve read on here, I definitely have not had it the worst, but I absolutely must forewarn anyone coming to Amsterdam to avoid this bakery at all costs. It seems I’m not the only one who thinks the prices are extortionate. I came in and asked how much churros were, and the lady saw I had €10 in my hand so charged me the full €10 for 7 churros. I brushed this off as standard Amsterdam pricing, but after looking at some reviews I have to agree that the staff just make up prices on the spot. No prices listed at all so they can just make it up. The churros themselves were somewhat okay, they had no sugar on them so tasted a little weird though. Definitely not worth €10. Please avoid at all costs. For the love of god ask how much things are before buying too - and then you can walk away if they try and charge...

FirmA Stroop: A Stroopwafel Experience Like No Other FirmA Stroop offers a stroopwafel experience that’s unlike any other. Here, stroopwafels are treated like pieces of jewelry, each one designed with precision and care—truly a work of art by a master designer. The property itself exudes freshness, luxury, and an unforgettable experience. But let’s talk about the star of the show: the stroopwafel. The gooey caramel is perfectly sandwiched between two thin waffles that have just the right firmness, giving it that satisfying bite. The wafel is then half-dipped in hot chocolate and topped with your choice of Oreo cookies, fresh strawberries, and only the best ingredients out there. Wow, wow, wow—words honestly can’t do it justice. The taste is undeniably irresistible and unforgettable. A must-try for any foodie visiting Amsterdam!

It was a great experience to try stroopwaffles for the first time here in Amsterdam. For others it may seem expensive but for me it is very reasonable price because compared to other places in Amsterdam city, it is very good price. I could sit in the shop, chilling and take a rest from walking entire day in Amsterdam, they provide wet wipes and napkins for customers, They cut the waffles for you if you want to share with your friends or take them home if you don’t finish them. The staffs in the shop is very friendly and helpful. Don‘t just take my word for it, you should try it yourself and you will be impressed.
