Was recommended by someone at work not sure what they experienced but they clearly have a different idea of a good restaurant. Looks nice on the face of it but the phrase style over substance comes to mind.
I was seated immediately upon entry and sat down. Before I'd even been given a menu I was asked what I wanted to drink - how was I supposed to know what they sold before seeing a menu? Menu arrived 5 minute's later. Not a good start.
Them it went downhill quickly. There was a mouse running around! Eventually I got a waitresses attention (after 10 minutesnof being ignored) and discreetly advised her of this. A manger came to advise it was an old building, near the canal etc etc so "normal". Apparently they have a cat as pest control. It seemed a surprise to him I was concerned. I'm not sure how but he could guarantee no mouse could get into the kitchen. I was going to leave there and then but couldn't be bothered to try and find somewhere else so took my chances and ordered.
Complementary bread arrives but no explanation as to what the pots are with it which is useless if you are vegan so asked for oil and balsamic (something so basic took so long to arrive).
Starter arrived quickly but after finishing the plate took far to long to be cleared.
The main (chickpea curry) was so so but presented in a way which made it very hard to eat and not practical at all. All mains come with 3 complimentary sides irrespective of what you ordered - fries, coleslaw and apple compote. It was a bizarre selection to go with curry! I questioned what dressing was in the coleslaw and was told it was a cream dressing..what use is that to a vegan? I was told everyone got the same sides as standard.
Eventually after patiently waiting and being totally ignored for 15 minute's my plate was taken and I was asked if I wanted dessert. By this point I just told the manager I wanted to leave but then it took another 10 minutes+ to get the bill.
They advertise as a 3 course fixed price menu but there is no vegan dessert so that's useless. The manager advised as I only had 2 courses he had taken 1 off. Nothing else was offered for the mouse incident (another table and waitress also saw it).
Service was poor at best. Just ignored and even when I did eventually get anyone's attention I was told to wait but they either never returned or it took a very long time.
In hindsight I would have have been better off going to McDonalds or Burger King.
Not my type of place at all but everyone...
