For once we did not check the place on Internet before grabbing a terrace table. At first we were the only customers, but rapidly after the place was filled, giving us the pleasant feeling we came at the right time at the right place. But soon after this dream shattered! First we had some drinks, waiting for our meal being served. At that moment the drinks tasted fine, but after paying we discovered a small beer was €5 and a soft drink €4. So be careful what and how much you drink with your meal. But ok, Amsterdam restaurants are often trying to rip off tourist, so not too crazy prices. The drinks and water comes from brandless big bottles and are served to you in a glass without bottle. The mix-grill dish came and had 3 kinds of meat on it, some decorative lettuce and a small bowl of fries. For ketchup and mayonnaise we had to ask the friendly waitress to bring us some, coming in plastic 1-person sachets. At the moment we started to eat our meal we realized we came to the worst place we could think of…. The spareribs came in odd pieces, the meat was drizzled with tendons, taste was not to bad. The steak was obviously the cheapest piece of meat on the market, taken from their freezer and after possibly baked in 2 or more times to make it the most uneatable piece of shoe sole ever tasted. It had a suspicious looking grey color, outside AND inside! Impossible to eat… The chicken was not fresh baked, but still quite nice and tasty. The fries were a mix of fresh fried and old fries fried again. Overall this restaurant has a serious problem with hygiene, just a glance into the kitchen clarifies why nothing good will ever originates from here… They seem to serve all food from their freezer, what gets really obvious when too many guests arrive at the same time, all complaining about burned meat that’s ice cold inside. The (frozen) meat must have been bought at a discount wholesale, lowest quality at lowest price.... Toilets were super dirty, seems no staff member has been made responsible for the cleaning, so simply thorough cleaning seemed skipped for ages. This restaurant is a danger for its customers health, if they will continue like this they will be forcibly closed by Dutch restaurant inspection soon we foresee. Only thing to come over here is to test your resistance before going on a holiday to a very poor third world country. If the food was excellent pricing still would be quite high, but for what we did get they should have paid us to be their Guinee pig experimenting on feeding this food instead of paying them. The server asked me if I wanted sauce with that and chips and I said yeah since he didn’t tell me that you pay extra for those which at the end I found out it’s €2.50 for ketchup which usually not paid for and free in many restaurants and €5.00 chips. Then when paying a woman who was probably the manager or owner or something came over and we asked to pay and as we paid she gave me a barcode and asked me to leave a review so I did and then we left. Not too later we were crossing back to take the tram and I needed to go to the toilet and we were near the restaurant my partner went in to ask if I could use the bathroom which they met me and as I was leaving the same lady stopped me and said if I was the one who left the 2 3 2 star review and I said yes and she asked we why. Knowing she’ll probably make a problem I said I just put it randomly and she then told me a little rudely to go on my review and change it and I was like okay? My WiFi wasn’t working so she logged it on my phone and made me type out the restaurant and edit my review then proceeded to go on my phone and put 5 stars on everything herself, I stopped her and I said I don’t think it deserves that then I took over and put 3 and she said put what ever you want but then looked at me weirdly after her making me go in to the website to force me to change it and then her tapping the stars herself on my phone. I thought that was rude and unneeded for she asked for a review and I gave her what I wanted and then she forced me to change it and herself went on my phone to giver herself a good rating saying it’s really important. I thought the service was some what okay apart from the not telling me about pricing and offering me but then that just made it so much worse. Read more(THE FORK USER NOTICE!) Your reply is a clear attempt to mislead: I asked about the Yums discount the second I arrived. Your staff got you, and you told us to order instead of answering. Only after we finished, you refused. You then shut off the 30% discount option right in front of me.
Let’s be clear: Even if my bill was reduced to €0, it would have been fully justified by YOUR advertised offer. And everybody knows yums weren’t free. You broke your own published rules.

Terrible Experience Deceptive Practices and Rude Owner! Avoid This Restaurant! I feel compelled to share it to warn others. I made a reservation through TheFork, which clearly stated that I could use my yums for a €50 discount. When I arrived, l asked the staff about the discount, but they claimed they didn't understand English and went to get the owner. The owner came over and completely ignored my question-instead, he just said, "Just start ordering!" Assuming everything was fine, I enjoyed my meal But when it was time to pay, the owner suddenly told me that they didn't accept TheFork yums discounts. I felt completely deceived-he had deliberately avoided answering my question earlier! To make things worse, I noticed that other customers were using TheFork's 30% discount promotion. When I mentioned this to the owner, he actually immediately closed the 30% booking option right in front of me! Do not waste your time or money here—there are plenty of honest...
