The micro brewery “Brouwerij de Prael” was one of the major highlights on our trip. For €12 we got a set of four pre-defined beers for a beer testing incl. nuts and water and very friendly service. The place had a really nice atmosphere and accommodated both young people, elder people and families. The place serves other foods than just snacks, which was a surprise to me. The absolute best thing about this place, is the fact that the company takes on a great social responsibility. The employees working there are excellent at their job, but might previously have faced difficulties in finding their place in the workforce. Very nice that they are can work there and not something that we had expected before we went to the brewery. The place can be tricky to find as it is placed down a narrow alleyway. Look for the bright white illuminated sign and you won’t miss it.

I don't like giving negative reviews, but here goes. Made a reservation for lunch, got there and the pub was practically empty. The woman at the door kinda laughed at me when I said I had a reservation, and then took the 4 of us to the worst possible table in the place, it literally hanged over a steep staircase and was on the main passage (I repeat - the place was nearly empty). The waiter came 3 times to confirm our order and then still forgot a side dish. The food was ok at best. The stew was tasty but it came with fries which is the most ridiculous combination ever (my mistake for not spoting it on the menu). Stew should come with mashed potatoes or rice or dumplings that can absorb the sauce. To top it off, I got a fork to eat it with, no spoon! The meat ball sandwich was mediocre and the sausage is a kid's portion, there should be two, not one. The atmosphere was subdued. At least the beer was good.

A really great place to grab a beer. Brouwerij has managed to make a stunning variety of beers. I’m not the biggest fan of bitter beers, but there are still a good few that come with less bitterness. The Bitter and Bitterblond are excellent alternatives to those who prefer the more pallet-able flavours. The food options are quite limited here and hence gets only 4 stars. Quality of the food, however, is great. All in all a great option in the middle of town and a must try for people looking for a nice place to hangout and grab a drink. The staff are super friendly - Rami is awesome and a good person to get to know.

No take out or to go! While the food looked and tasted amazing I would have ordered a lot less had I known I could not take my leftovers with me for another meal.as you can see I ordered a cheese plate meatballs, and a burger. The lack of to go reduced one star. The service was the other reduction. When finished with my first beer it took the staff 5 minutes to acknowledge and offer another beer. To which I replied that I would like the bill. I had my card out at the time of receiving the bill and it still took another 5 minutes to get checked out.

What an incredible place. Hidden in an alley downtown, this microbrewery has the best home-made beer in town. At least out of the few I tried. They have a good selection of home brewed beer. from dark Porter to bitter blonde, almost all of them taste amazing. One stood out was their IPA, very earthy and super refreshing and I'm not a fan of IPAs in general. The staff are ever so friendly and really welcoming. Sat at the bar and met some amazing people there on vacation just like I am. A gem in the heart of the city. A must try.

We visited on a recommendation and we weren't disappointed - excellent welcome and service from Linda, delicious varietal beers, great pub food - all of which made for a satisfying afternoon on a cool winter's day. In particular our server helped customise each of our beer floats, so we were able to compare all of the many flavours that the microbrewery has to offer - the service helped make us feel very welcome and the rustic atmosphere and music made the experience even more relaxing. Highly recommend this hidden gem.
