This is only a review of the service (and reservation planning/management), not the food.
We made a reservation 2 weeks ago for 7 people on google. On the day of the reservation we receive an email from Alberto that the reservation has been cancelled because apparently you need to either call or send an email, which is not noted anywhere.
We were really looking forward to traditional Peruvian cuisine since we’ve done an extensive backpacking trip through Peru a year ago. So when we replied to the email and asked for a reservation of 7 people, we immediately received a confirmation but for 2 seperate tables at 18:00, which was fine with us. When we arrived at 17:45 we were told there was some kind of “confusion” and that he could not seat us (even though we made the reservation 2 weeks ago, and had another confirmation on the day of the reservation). We were told to come back at 19:30 if we wanted to be seated.
This has been a very disappointing experience since we travelled from Utrecht, just to try out this restaurant only to be disappointed not once but twice due to bad planning and reservation management. Truly a shame because the pictures of the food look delicious and very much like what we...
Read moreTrue Peruvian cuisine! True to the Ceviche (unlike what you see in most places in Amsterdam). Real authentic dishes from around Peru! amazing! The cocktail is a delicious Pizco Sour! I seriously seriously recommend!!l Thanks Alberto and chef!
Went back recently and changing to 4*. The food was still great, that did not change. The problem was the server. First he rushed us to order, didnt really listen to us, took finished dishes of 2 of us and asked if we wanted dessert while one of us was still eating (we found that so rude), and then he rushed us at after our meal to get out. He said there is another reservation coming. But we had booked a table and other tables who were there before us were not rushed.. probably because they were eating or drinking more than us. If there is a time limit on the tables I think it should be communicated before to us customers.
Changed it to 3* after response from owner to my review. Instead of really reading what I wrote, he simply replied about the time...not reading that the waiter was rude, hurried us but the other tables that were there before us were not rushed. If there is a time limit, they should have been out before us.... Leaving 3* because the food...
Read moreLast month, the 4 of us enjoyed our various dishes, especially the ceviche! A few points to consider, though. The reservation app doesn't seem to work like modern systems, that let you confirm easily online. Also, the father/owner of the restaraunt seemed to be extremely stressed. Since the restaurant is so small, there are not many tables. This caused the owner to constantly stare us down while eating our main courses, hoping we would leave early....so that he could put some strangers (who had no reservation) in our place. We were taking the last bite of our food at 19:10 and at 19:15 he simply sent us the check without giving us a chance to order desssert! Thankfully, his friendly son, the waiter, corrected the situation and allowed us to order desseert and coffee. The owner assumed none of us spoke Spanish, so he loudly declared: "These people talk too much while eating! Send the check again so we can let some people in from the street." While I understand he wants to make enough money for the evening, there's no need to be so rude and make us rush through dinner. I suggest just ordering the delicious food via Uber Eats/ takeaway to avoid the 'stare of death' from the owner on...
