Written in September 23 - for some reason the review won’t upload… September is a bright neighbourhood style cafe-restaurant with a highly innovative, tasty, satisfying menu for what we felt was a fair price. High ceilings, eye-catching floor, abundant greenery and well-polished glass…. its Amsterdam School architecture style gives a light, young, trendy feel, with a warm atmospheric feel and welcome. We were presented with a conundrum: the menu was so enticing, we wanted to try everything! I have never even thought of marinating a tomato let alone tried one, but the explosion of flavour put smiles of delight on diners’ faces - not just at our table either! Colourful, nutritious and well balanced vegan, vegetarian, fish, and meat dishes, all of the same quality and pricing, reflected the late summer season we visited September. What we ate was modern, refreshingly different, and emphasising vegetables - a break from tradition. But they were filling, satisfying, and pure pleasure to eat. The wine list of mostly natural and biodynamic wines was a careful selection and it worked well with the menu. We appreciated the thought they had put into it. This won’t be our last visit 🙂

We went in with a ‘is this place really worth 5 stars?’ attitude... We were pleasantly surprised!!! Adorable place, cute decor. Small but impressive menu, the tomato appetizer was the best thing I’ve had in a long time. This is easily the best place I’ve eaten in Amsterdam and it’ll be at the top of my recommendation list for other people. I was so impressed and can’t wait to go back. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the plates: a little over 80€ for 4 glasses of wine, bread and butter, tomato appetizer and 2 main meals: one chicken, and one vegetarian.

One of (if not the best!) dining experiences in Amsterdam. Passionate team of three owner-operators really hold it down here. Delicious, fresh seasonal food served in a lovely environment. Spot gets lovely evening sun and has great drinks available. Our bill was approx. 170 for two nice bottles of wine and about four courses incl. dessert (for two people) so we thought very reasonable. Will be back for sure!

Ok before i start my review, i’ll just say that this place has been on my list for a while and I REALLY wanted to like it. Im going to start with the positives: nice location, nice wine and friendly staff. I ordered the sea bass ‘risotto’ while my friends ordered some small plates. I was quite disappointed with my dish. It didnt have a lot of flavor, i felt like it was a bit undercooked but i will leave that to the benefit of doubt because monkfish is supposed to be rubbery. The risotto was soggy. I dont like sending food back so i finished it. The cabbage tops were super nice and so was the wine. Maybe it was a bad day - if they have changing main course menu i will visit again because i believe in second chances and because the staff was super nice. Recommendation: a sommelier with proper wine knowledge to help...

My friends and I had such a wonderful evening here. The menu is small but thoughtful. The food was exceptional, especially the pumpkin and goats cheese starter which was well balanced and generous. I loved the herby butter served with the sourdough bread. The service was also amazing — our waiter was friendly and incredibly patient even though we took forever to place our order. I also loved the crockery — everything feels very intentional, without being pretentious. My only piece of feedback is that the benches could do with thicker cushions — after sitting for a few hours it felt a little uncomfortable. Overall would definitely recommend and look forward to...
