The Butcher - Foodhallen — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Avoid this place like a plague! Would give 0 stars if i could. Worst eating experience i have ever had. Whilst ordering my food i decided to change it for something else and the cashier was grunting and rolled her eyes at me. After we ordered we sat down to wait expecting to wait 5-10 mins. However that was definitely not the case, as the food took longer than our flight to amsterdam. 50 minutes we waited for STREET food, not a restaurant, a food HALL. After 20 mins we went to ask about our food and we were told that it would be out soon. However all we could see was a few workers tidying their stations that weren’t even messy because no burgers were being made. After 45 mins we went over and questioned them again about our food. Clearly they had forgotten because it wasn’t even made! They attempted to placate us with random burgers that were sitting out ( possibly other peoples orders) and gave us bacon burgers which we are unable to eat for religious reasons. In the end they gave us more burgers which they claimed to be our orders however they were definitely not. When i opened up my burger, the bun was GREEN, i think they dyed it green and that was not what was advertised. The cheese was also a strange shade of green. Overall this made it extremely unappetising and this was of my WORST eating experienced ever. Staff were extremely unhelpful, there was no sense of urgency and they didn’t even seem to know what day it was. That is how simple they seemed. I was really disappointed with my visit. The burgers looked promising, but the reality was very different. The patty was dry and overcooked, the bun fell apart immediately, and the toppings tasted like they had been sitting out for a while. On top of that, the fries were soggy and greasy.

The service didn’t make things better either slow, inattentive, and it felt like we were bothering the staff just by being there. For the price they charge, I expected way better quality and a more welcoming experience.

Good Burger! Great quality, perfectly cooked - could of had a bit more of a smokey flavour as it was a bit bland but it was nice. Staff weren’t overly friendly but it was busy so they were just trying to get the food out. Good menu - range of different burgers, selection of sides and sauces. The bun was nice and so was the Butcher Sauce inside the burger. The salad within the burger was fresh. We had The Butcher with Cheese (with added Bacon and no Gherkins).
