During my recent visit to Amsterdam, I came across one of the best culinary gems the city has to offer: Sajeria, a Lebanese restaurant located at Wijde Heisteeg 1, 1016 AS Amsterdam. From the moment I stepped inside, it felt like a cozy escape to a modern corner of Beirut—blending authentic Middle Eastern flavors with a contemporary European vibe.
The space is relatively small, but warm and inviting, with an atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, always smiling and making sure every detail of the order was perfect. Service was fast and genuinely welcoming, which added a lot to the overall experience.
Now, onto the food—absolutely delicious! I tried several wraps made with freshly baked saj bread, and every bite was a burst of authentic Lebanese flavor. The seasoning, the freshness of the ingredients, and the thoughtful presentation all came together beautifully. It was clear that the restaurant takes great care in delivering quality and taste.
One of the highlights of my visit was their mint tea—served hot, fragrant, and full of flavor. It had a refreshing yet soothing taste that perfectly complemented the meal and left a lasting impression.
What sets Sajeria apart is the unique blend of authentic Lebanese taste with modern simplicity, all tucked away in the heart of Amsterdam. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel at home even while traveling abroad.
Without a doubt, this restaurant will be one of the first stops I make on my next trip to Amsterdam. I highly recommend Sajeria to anyone seeking a flavorful, heartwarming meal with...
Read moreOh wow! Where have you been all my life? This place serves up some of the most mouth watering wraps I have ever had!
Location: (5/5) This place is smack in the middle of town, easy to walk from any of the central locations in town and it also means that picking a wrap to go and a drink and one can sit on the canals while enjoying the food.
Ambience: (3/5) Function over form here. There are seating areas upstairs, but it is a small space and hence not the ideal sit and chat type of location. But like I mentioned, it is a great place to pick up and walk to a canal and sit.
Food: (5/5) Exquisite is how I would describe it in one word. The wraps are made to perfection. The colours, the textures and the flavour all fuse together to form the perfect experience with each bite. The wrap can get a bit messy, but hey, when something tastes this good, you really don’t care. The wraps are reasonably sized, but for those heavy eaters, I would recommend getting something in addition.
Service: (5/5) For the queues outside, they did a fantastic job of getting the food to us quickly. So even when it is crowded, you should be fine as you will get your food quite fast.
Summary (5/5) Best wraps in town! Stop reading this review and go there now. You will thank...

At the entrance, you are greeted with wonderful mouth watering smells from the Middle East and a view of the chef preparing freshly baked manoushe flatbreads on a hot griddle resembling an upside down wok. Inside the space is very small but if you are lucky, you might be able to grab a table on the first floor, overlooking the kitchen. To begin with, ask for a taster of their lentil soup which is indescribably delicious. This is a "foodie" paradise specialising in Lebanese street food and catering to vegans, vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. House speciality is manoushe, available in whole wheat or white versions and a choice of toppings guaranteed to please. Besides soft drinks, they serve homemade Hibiscus lemonade, fresh mint tea and Yensoun, Lebanese anise seed tea. In addition to vegan and gluten free desserts, is Manoushe Halawa, a freshly baked white flatbread topped with Halawa and cranberries, or homemade sweet sesame and pistachio Halawa ice cream. A very friendly staff are happy to answer any questions and alleviate any allergy concerns. Prices are really reasonable and worth...
