I booked the ontbijtplaank for four people, two vegetarians and two normal people, as indicated twice in the reservation. When we arrived we told the waitress: two vegetarians and two normal. She served us four vegetarian dishes and although the only difference was the bacon, I think they should be more attentive in the reservations because that's what it says to indicate the food preferences, in addition to a box where you can write them again. The board was acceptable, a bit too sweet, it looks great for an Instagram photo, but they should have included two savory and two sweet dishes. We were up to our ears in sugar. Toast with a little more zest would have been nice, a slice of cheese and an egg is too bland for the price paid. Then the girl checked to see if we were missing anything. We all have bad days, but as a tip, reservations should be checked before asking...
Read moreI had lunch there on koningsdag, so maybe they were not up to their usual standards, but I was surprised that this was one of the worst meals out I've had in Groningen. The menu sounded so fresh and modern. I got a sandwich with housemade pastrami, truffle mayo fries, and a tosti for the kids. The drinks of ginger tea and apple juice were nice, understandably served in disposable cups because of the holiday rush. But the pastrami sandwich was very plain and thin on the fillings, the tosti was literally a white pita with melted cheese, and the fries were soggy and too heavy in flavor. It cost 40 euro and I found myself hungry at the end, and wishing I had just gotten the delicious looking doner and fries I saw people eating down the street. The servers were incredibly nice and I always thought this place looked so cute, so it...
Read moreThis is an adorable place, very cozy and charming and with a good menu. I went there for its indication as the 2nd best cheap eating by TripAdvisor. The options in the menu were very tasty, and there was good options for vegetarians. I had the sweet-potato with salad and my boyfriend the Roti. Both were small-medium portions, which were enough for a lunch bite (from the lunch menu) but not too much (for a proper meal). I liked the option they have some breakfast items until 4pm, as well as the lunch menu. Diner menu is from 5pm onwards. We ended up sharing a carrot cake to make sure we had eaten enough. I strongly recommend for the place and the taste of the food, but not necessarily as a specially cheap place or large...
