Bagels & Beans — Restaurant in Leiden

We had a great visit here. Stopped in for something to eat between a breakfast and lunch. Had a black coffee, a mushroom "burger", and a slice of peacan pie. All of it was very tasty. Personally I could have done with a smear of butter on the bagel but that's me. The coffee was above average. The peacan pie was, in my opinion, nontraditional but no less tasty for it. The tables are small and mostly suited to just a couple of people, but a few could accommodate a larger group. Overall just a nice menu with many compelling options and fair prices. The service was so friendly and present (this was a particularly strong point for me). I felt very welcome. Bathrooms we very bright and clean. Not an overly loud environment either. The bagels are pretty good. But what stands out most to me is their iced coffee. I could drink it all day, all night, everyday and not get sick of it (only broke eventually). The sweet iced coffee is so delicious and I love getting it with whipped cream on top.

The interior is also very nicely done. Though I find the organisation of having to walk 4 flights of stairs to get to the toilet to be poor design, especially if you're having any issues with walking or your legs of any sort (whether pain, disability, etc). It's also very nice how there's a terrace/outdoor space with more space outdoors.

The staff is also very polite, no complaints at all there.

My only complaint is how many stairs I have to climb to use to toilet, otherwise, everything I've experienced and had so...

Extremely nice place: lovely atmosphere and great service (they were super kind and all the positive adjectives you can think of when talking about customer service). I had true chance you enjoy my order outside: if you can, do it also!!! The bagel I ordered (warm one, mushroom patty with lettuce, parmigiano cheese and truffle mayonnaise plus extras of melted cheddar and avocado with whole-wheat bagel) was delicious, the bagel was not hard, perfectly toasted.
