Scott's Tavern — Restaurant in Leiden

The service was perfectly fine, nice location, tasteful interior.

However I ordered a brushetta: which famously involves garlic, onion, and crucially basil, on a slice of fresh baguette style bread.

I received a blob of mozzarella on top of a piece of hard, dark, dark brown bread, with a few pieces of lettuce around it. The only ingredients it had in common with brushetta were the sliced tomato, and the balsamic garnish.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend a restaurant that takes so much license with a dish, that they are no longer serving you what...

We stayed one hour to wait for the food, only to be told the chef did not even started cooking it. Even under normal circumstances one English breakfast took longer than normal. It would have been more understandable if we were not the first clients to enter the restaurant and if we were not physically there. Why didn't the waitresses that had nothing else to do inquired about our food? Who knows, but I am not returning there to waste hours without even getting any...

Scott's Tavern is the new place to be in Leiden. Such an amazing job with the renovations and the atmosphere is fantastic with a wide range of different customers. The food menu has a great variety of tasty snacks and delicious meals, added to that and extensive selection of drinks, we really can't fault this great new addition to the center of Leiden. It is definitely our new favorite place to go relax for a coffee or enjoy a few...
