A new and very welcoming ramen restaurant in town. We went to try their ramen and they were delicious. All kinds of rich ramen soup and two types of different thickness of ramen to choose from. We choose the thicker one, thinking it was like the thick ones from Hinoki, but it was thicker and the texture was different. It reminded me too much of Chinese noodles so it was my mistake to change the standard one into the thick one. Next time I will make sure to try the thinner ramen.
The side dishes/starters were okay, but the one that really makes a different was the Takoyaki. The dough was well made and even the taste reminds me of the ones in Osaka. Wish they would distribute some small plates beforehand so that it was easier to share/eat without dripping the sauces or the food everywhere.
The place itself is still very new so from the outside it is hard to see there is a restaurant hidden in the corner. Perhaps they can put a chalkboard outside to make it more visible?!Don’t want this ramen place to be gone.
Inside the restaurant it feels a bit chill, because there is not much warm decorations or lively plants. But the warmth from the friendly staff definitely made a different. The young lady serving us was very friendly and attentive. She can even make certain shortcomings disappear. We really had a great time there and it was relaxing to order more drinks. Definitely recommend to try this new ramen place. Please keep up...
Read moreFirst visit. Kyushu tonkotsu style ramen. Kyushu tonkotsu is generally made with thin, straight noodles, ( like ICHIRAN) but this ramen had thin, a bit curly noodles but actually they were better than straight noodles as they tangled well with the soup and matched it very well. ChaShu was carefully seared and eggs were cooked perfectly. In Rotterdam, I used to go for ramen to one of two places. One where I liked the soup but the noodles were too soft for me. The other uses the famous Hokkaido Nishiyama ramen, but the soup is too rough and I don't like it. This restaurant has a good balance of soup, noodles and toppings, all carefully prepared. I don't know if Dutch people like it, but as a Japanese, I would like to have red ginger on top of the white Kyushu tonkotsu ramen - just like hacing pickles&onion on Herring, red ginger on Kyushu tonkotsu ramen would add an accent to the taste. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I will definitely come...
Read moreAfter seeing high score reviews and very nice pictures of ramen, we decided to go and try for ourselves. Unfortunately it ended by the looks only, dishes were indeed nice and pretty but for the price it could be much bigger( ~16 eur). The toppings were good and tasty, the chicken and pork was tasty, unfortunately the broth (tonkotsu) was bland, no pork flavour to be found and lukewarm with way too little tare in it. Noodles seemed of low quality as well. Because of the use of qr code there is very limited contact with service which makes it an unpersonal experience It is also nice to have a physical menu in hand as if people don't spend enough time with their phones already. Deco was poor besides one wall with nice dishes attached to the wall The place is basic. Service almost non-existing. It was...
