Years ago I used to come to this place regularly, it used to be a second home for me, as the food used to be amazing and so was the service!
But, let’s talk about today’s experience after not visiting this place for the past 7 years.
It was an experience I’d rather forget to be honest. Let’s start with the service… Disappointing, dull, unprofessional, a lack of any professionalism, kindness and interest. I asked if we could all pay separately and the guy with light (dyed) hair answered rudely: ‘why would we want people to pay separately?’ Maybe because we might want it that way! They’d get the total amount, maybe even more in tips if having everyone pay separately. I called the situation ridiculous, and it sure is.
Let’s leave that aside and talk about the food… The starters arrived way after the main courses… not right. The main course arrived really quick. Peking Duck with pancakes and two times Chicken Nasi. They were pretty dull in taste, especially the duck, it was pretty cold already, and sauce for the pancakes tasted really strange, not the same I had in the past definitely. The chicken nasi wasn’t any better, the taste was quite bland. When we were pretty much nearly done with our mains, that’s when our starters arrived… also feeling very soggy, oily, and boring (the vegetarian spring rolls and pork meat). The chicken feet were just boring in taste, and from what we noticed they had totally forgotten about the two chicken feet we asked for, those two had been on the counter for quite a while and no one had the right mind to bring them before the main courses.
Stay away if you agree service is quite important, and definitely stay away if you’re looking for something...
Read moreI used to love this place for its food when I first discovered it with my mom 5 years ago. Everytime I would crave Chinese, this would be my go to even though I always found them rude.
However one incident really put me off, I was with my mom and my newborn (post-partum cravings) he was only 3-4 weeks old, asleep when we came in. I could already hear them saying Kinderwagen this kinderwagen that, so I knew they let us in but weren’t pleased of us being there. The food came and my baby woke up, so I had to breastfeed him, and here the show started. Not only was it hard for me as a first time mom trying to get a hang of breastfeeding and with hormones up the roof, but I have NEVER felt so ashamed, discriminated and straight up laughed at in my life. And I literally breastfed in any place one could imagine, because you have to do what you have to do. They were constantly talking about me, I even went and hid in the back because I felt so judged, and I just started crying. I was very happy to see the looks on their faces when another baby came in and it started shouting out loud, because it made me feel less lonely.
Another incident was just a few nights ago when I wanted to give them another try, the elderly man asked if we had a reservation we said no, they said ok you can t sit, but then took the couple behind us without a reservation, all that because we had a child with us. Absolutely ridiculous.
All that to say that I’ve been to FULL MOON PALACE and not only is the food 10 times better, but you actually get treated like a human and not like a dog.
I am still shocked at how they treat their guests,...
Read moreIf you're planning to have dim sum at this place and don't have at least 30 minutes to spare, don't bother going. I ordered four dim sum dishes at precisely 12:57 PM, according to my receipt. At 1:21 PM, after waiting almost half an hour and noticing that customers who arrived after me were already being served, I asked how much longer my order would take. The waiter (different from the one who took my order) told me it would take another 20 minutes.
I was upset—not because I'd already waited about 25 minutes, but because I was told it would take an additional 20 minutes. What kind of dim sum takes nearly 50 minutes to prepare? To make matters worse, the original waiter who took my order approached me in a very rude manner, saying that dim sum takes time to steam and isn’t fast food, as if I didn’t understand what dim sum is or was expecting it to be ready in five minutes. I told him that I knew what dim sum was but I still couldn’t understand why it would take nearly 50 minutes. He then almost yelled at me, asking if I wanted to cancel my order.
By the time I finally left the restaurant, it was 1:25 PM. While it turned out that the food was prepared within a reasonable time given that 2/3 of the tables were occupied, the way I was treated was unacceptable. If the waiter had initially told me it would take 5-10 minutes more, I would have waited without further complaint. But they gave me incorrect information from the start, which triggered my frustration, and then they treated me poorly. I will never go back to this...
