A nice quaint cafe with a tasty variety of food. Gday Benedict had a nice creamy sauce and a nice pop to the egg, with a crispy tasty bacon. Bubble and squeak was a nice wintery breakfast with perfect eggs to suit. The crepes were a perfect lite and sweet fillings to match as that was the choice our grandson chose. Cheese toasties were a nice savory snack to have with tbe crepes. We also tried the cakes in the counter display and they were a lovely treat to have. The black forest gateau - it was delicious and not overly sweet, lemon cheese cake was sweet but a definite tasty yummy naughty treat and the carrot cake, the right density with a delectable icing on top. A naughty breakfast indeed but worth the visit - all washed down with a delicious mochaccino. Nice family atmosphere with awesome service, highly recommend 😃

2025 We are back for dinner: salmon carpaccio, onion & potato soup, beef bourguignon were very good. Then three desserts: creme brulee, double affrogato (beautifully bitter) , and ginger croissant (fancy bread and butter pudding). 2024 What a lovely time we had. Our favourite places were closed so we tried here. We picked a quiet relaxed morning to eat brunch. Traffic noise is minimal even though we sat by the window. Black Forest cake is well made - a bit of tangy fruit flavour with chocolate and cream. I was also impressed with the herby beef sausage in the Full Breakfast. But big eaters note that the meal didn't come close to filling me. The only negative is the oddly located toilet, LOL.

I’ve been noticing G'day Café & Eatery on my way to work and finally popped in for a quick visit. This relatively new spot on Petone's historic Jackson Street is a small and casual place with a pretty standard café look, but it’s got a good feel to it. The couple running the show were really friendly and efficient, which always makes a difference. I kept it simple with a coffee and a slice of tiramisu, and both were genuinely nice, no complaints at all. It’s definitely a solid option that already seems more appealing than some of the older cafes nearby that have changed hands recently. I’ll be back to try more from the menu, but first impressions are definitely good.
