Went in for a takeaway. Two other patrons waiting to be served before me. Stood waiting for 15mins before the manager came and took my order...but only to have her walk away and serve someone on a table 🤦♀️🙄 after waiting for 6mins...she finally takes my order. Asked her how long...she seems unsure and said in broken english to check back in 15mins if ready. Went away and came back 20mins later to find order not ready. No one at the counter to ask. Waited patiently until I got hold of another attendant. She went and checked with the kitchen. Said it will take 20 to 30mins. While i waited, many patrons came and just stood waiting to be served. Attendant ignoring the counter. Saw the cleaner saying to attendant that people are waiting to be served. About 5mins later she comes and tells the person, who waited for 30mins, that if the counter is not maned then assume they are closed for service. I checked again with the manager to see how far my order was... she came back finally with my food. Total wait 1hr 35mins! Suggestion, as a restaurant and service industry, you should know what is happening in the city (games was on) so that you plan your staffing properly so that you are capable of serving your patrons satisfactorily. Also if you get a takeaway order... get the kitchen to prioritise that first...not rocket science. Being obvilious to why suddenly people coming in huge groups and not being ready for it isnt a good excuse for poor service and unsatisfied customers. You had a group of 16 that wanted to come in...however you turned then away! Typical asian style service...no value for customers, only husiness focused. I would not go back and wouldnt recommend it to anyone either. Food may be good but lack of service leavea a bitter taste in ones mouth. New Zealand has good customer service in general, i would suggest you...
Read moreThank you to Susan who saved this from being a lower rating. I am putting it down to Ida (just having a bad day) we all have them. We are visiting from out of town staying in Wgtn CBD reading the previous reviews was looking forward to dining in but due to teenagers being tired from a long day we opted to call for Takeaways. Whilst they have been around a longtime I understand the history but what should compliment this history is warm customer care whether dining in or phoning an order through. Aside from the rude phone mannerisms of Ida - I won’t fault the food quality & taste. Definitely tasty and authentic in flavours. We ordered Sweet n Sour Pork, Chicken fried rice & Chicken Egg Foo Yong. A total of $81 - we don’t mind paying for quality food but for the portion and size the price was pretty overrated for the portions. Either way if you have cash to splash enjoy it - if you’re feeding a whanau (teenage boys like mine) probably best to keep walking & grab a Share Box from Maccas for half the price 🤷🏻♀️ Some fine dining for petite eaters. Susan, keep up the great customer genuineness maybe share some of that customer care & love with Ida so it comes through her voice when on the phone. Well whanau, we...
Read moreAlways wanted to try this place. Because it is hidden and almost down the side of an alleyway with not much advertisement. Blink and you will miss it type of place As far as entrance goes. This to me added to the quirk of the place. Staff was friendly and we enjoyed the buffet lunch, there is hardly any food there as they don’t fill up the trays as most places would. But they do let you know that there is anything you would like and they top up the tray for you with notice. The food didn’t look that appealing either but once I took a bite at everything that was available for me I was in Heaven .. the food and the flavours was fresh and scrumptious it really exceeded my first judgment upon seeing the display. And the food was extremely authentic. What a lovely hidden Gem this restaurant actually is. The atmosphere is abit outdated but it’s very clean and relaxing. I just can’t get over the taste of the food. So much so that I had to ask if they cater to parties etc...
