Cova cafe — Restaurant in Waitematā

Avoid this Cafe like the plague! I bought a chicken and mushroom crepe from here and not only was the crepe stale but the filling resembled something like flavoured mashed potato with tiny bits of what may have been chicken and mushroom but as they were so small it was hard to tell. When I complained and asked for a refund the sour looking server refused on the basis I had eaten most of it. My daughter & I had eaten about two thirds of it as we were REALLY hungry. I told the server this and asked if we could have some replacement food. They refused us this also. Finally I said I was going to give them a bad google review and the server just said, "I don't care". UNBELIEVABLE! People like this deserve to go out of business when they treat their customers like dirt. I would've included photos if I had known this...

Visited this place on Sat at 6pm. Had two coffee's, one slice of cheese cake and a coconut friand. Service was poor - not one smile while I was there with my family. while the cafe was open part of it was closed for cleaning and we couldn't sit there. the coffee was terrible with a taste of burnt coffee. the medium size cups were actually small in size and small was tiny. the baked items were average at best. the bill 27.4. i think coffee club and star bucks offer a lot more value for money. bigger and better servings from friendly welcoming staff. Have been here a couple of times but not recently… went here over the weekend and am not sure if it’s because I haven’t been here for at least a year, but the coffee was SO good 🤩 ordered a slice of cheesecake as well which was a perfect match.

Staff was also pretty nice and accommodating, although felt like they wanted us to leave at some point (were cleaning around us, getting our cups of coffee and plates) but we did stay for a couple of hours so I guess that was too long for them 🤷🏻‍♀️

But again, coffee was amazing...
