We recently visited Sierra Café in the Viaduct and had a terrible experience.
When ordering, we asked if the iced green tea latte was the same price as the hot one ($6.80), and the staff member confirmed that it was. Our menus were taken away after we ordered, so we had no way of double-checking the price at that point.
However, when it came time to pay, we noticed we’d been charged more than expected. We calmly raised this with the cashier, but instead of listening or trying to understand the situation, she repeatedly insisted and yelled at us that the iced version had always been more expensive. We explained that we were misinformed by her staff, but she continued to raise her voice and dismiss our concern. Her attitude was unprofessional and made the situation feel unnecessarily uncomfortable.
As for the food - it was very average, and overpriced. The iced green tea latte tasted like green-tinted milk with no green tea flavour.
Wouldn’t recommend, service was awful
Edit: The owner has responded, but as usual, seen in other bad reviews, refuses to acknowledge any fault. While the menu does list a higher price, I was verbally told by staff - while pointing at the hot version it was the same price. That’s why I didn’t double-check elsewhere on the menu. Rather than owning a simple $2 mistake, they chose to argue with their customer. Disappointing experience....
Read moreSierra Coffee at the Viaduct is one of those spots that just makes your day better the moment you walk in. The coffee is absolutely amazing—crafted with care, smooth, rich, and seriously satisfying. Whether you're grabbing a flat white to go or settling in for a slow morning, it’s clear these folks know what they’re doing when it comes to great coffee.
The breakfast? Also a winner. Fresh, hearty, and beautifully presented, with something for everyone. From classic options to more creative bites, everything we’ve tried has been full of flavour and made with quality ingredients. You can tell they put love into the menu.
And then there’s the vibe—super chill, friendly staff, and the bonus entertainment of little birds (we’ve named them all Burt!) swooping in and out like they own the place. It adds this charming, almost magical feel to the whole experience.
Whether you're a local or just passing through, Sierra Coffee is a must-visit in the Viaduct. It’s the kind of place you end up coming back to...
Read moreWe expected to wait a period of time for breakfast here this morning but not an hour 20mins. We were served our drinks in a good period of time however our kitchen breakfast We ordered never arrived, no staff reasurred us breakfast was coming until we asked and was told she would find out but never returned to update us. On second approach after waiting We approached staff to be snapped at that it would be 10 mins. Sadly after waiting an 1 hour 20mins we decided to leave and pay only for our drinks. Staff were terribly rude and seemed to have no idea or manners. To top off the experience the woman who was making coffee absolutely yelled at a gentleman when he also approached asking where his order was. The cafe fell silent and other tables who were also waiting on meals left. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from this women the poor gentleman who appeared to be a caregiver to a lady in a wheelchair was so embrassed. Would not recommend this place especially if busy they clearly...
