These guys were unreal. Stayed in a local hotel as a stop over for one night. Accidentally stumbled upon them as I was walking around town. the host lady was amazing and made me feel so welcomed when I walked in (feel bad I cannot remember her name) came back later in the arvo and sat at the bar with my friend and ordered a beautifully made cocktail where we were met with lovely thought inducing chat from the bartender. Who was shortly joined by one of the owners disguised as auklands best bar back. Was going to stay for one drink and ended up staying for a while.. the ambience was very 20s and classy. Some modern twists on some classic cocktails. Loved every moment, they even got a cheeky snap of us on our dinky film camera behind the bar. The locals that came in were full of some fun chat aswell. Would happily reccomend this place to family and friends....
Read moreFinally got to check out this recommended cocktail in St Kevins Arcade. Have to say, the vibe and atmosphere didn't live up to the expectations. There was clearly no cranberry in the drinks. We said we didn't want them and they offered to make fresh ones. We declined and said we were leaving. As we got up to go the staff came back out to say our fresh drinks were on the way. We said we didn't order them or want them. Felt very uncomfortable and couldn't wait to leave. Was a...

the space is throwback with speak easy and boho chic aesthetics.
the service is kind, engaged, knowledgeable, and responsive. We were expertly supported by Zack who knew his stuff and had some serious service experience.
the clarified New York sour is what they are known for. I found it nrifht and balanced with a touch of islay peat, which i love. the barrel aged rosemary and rye was the right amount of sweet, but I would have liked a fresh vs dried sprig of rosemary, maybe a touch of citrus.
I look forward to haunting this joint whenever I am cocktailing or fancy a cheeky tipple in Auckland.
Stop in and enjoy...
