I ordered a set meal for 1 meat and 2 veggies ($11.5). It comes with 3 hot dishes, rice and an apple slice.
This restaurant has a buffet like section where you pick the dishes and staff serve them on a tray for you. It’s not shown on their normal menu.
Ordering First approach the buffet like section, check the price list (see my photo). Staff will come to you, chill, take your time choosing your dishes, no courtesy needed. There are no labels whatsoever for each dishes, chill, even I don’t know most dishes’ name. Naming basic ingredient + finger pointing is what I did. Egg FOO YOUNG is a veggie dish in Asian universe. After picking the dishes, they assemble the set meal immediately for you. Now you can just grab your food and go find a seat.
Picking your autistic seat The type of seat you are looking for is where no one facing you. Check my video, I sit at the best spot I can find. Staff here basically don’t pay attention to customers (in a good way). It makes this step a lot easier. You know how annoying when staff pay too much attention to customers when you are autistic? Like when you are just enjoying your meals or lost in your thoughts for a while they have to interrupt you asking you things like “Is everything okay?” “Are you okay?” like why ask you don’t even want an honest answer.
Other Info Self service free water is near the fridge next to the entrance. Free napkins are on the table.
Food - 8.5 Food didn’t blow me away, the taste is good at least. But if you look at the variety, the portion and the price, you know this restaurant deserves 5...
Read moreI’d actually been wanting to try this place for ages; a friend recommended it to me, saying it was cheap, delicious, and totally worth it. And they were right! You can get a proper, authentic Chinese style ramen noodles from just $12, and it's clear there's real care and quality behind it. It's the kind of place you just naturally want to tell others about (which is why I’m writing this review!LoL). My child is almost five, and we often find that kid's portions are too small, but adult portions are way too big and end up half-eaten. But here, the ramen was just the right size......and my child finished it all! I couldn't help but think how lucky they are to enjoy such proper, authentic Chinese ramen noodles at such a young age. Honestly, it's rare to find food this affordable that doesn't feel compromised in quality. You kind of expect there to be a catch, but here, it just feels like the owners are genuinely kind and fair. Thank you, we'll...
Read moreWe were looking for a good noodle to eat because it was overwhelming so many Chinese restaurants, but we found this hidden gem Xian style cooking which my husband and I love. The prices are cheaper than most of the places. The owner is very nice and the server was friendly . The owner doesn’t allow tipping either. I wish California, USA will do the same. I like that the prices in NZ are included service and taxes which make it easier for tourists/customers. We ordered a large bowl of lamb noodle soup (not spicy) to share which had so much lamb meats and the noodles are mixed with hand cut and clear noodle (mug bean noodle). The broth tasted so good… we drank all the soup 😋. We also order a beef crispy bread burger and a cumin spices lamb burger. Both were tasty and so filling. I would try more other noodle soup if I had stayed more days...
