Have to say great Irish Pub maybe not the best in Auckland but on a Friday Saturday evening is fun we have visited a few on the visit and have to say great staff on Fridays and Saturdays, can’t say the same for the day staff they a little but up themselves. It’s in a great location by the marina. If you are visiting have to go Friday or Saturday evening is a great time was had by us and most people that were there. They have live music and to a degree this is good not great but good. One thing that did let it down is they need to read the crowd that is smothering I have found in Auckland they do not do. They do what they want when they want on this occasion Saturday the place was full, everyone having a great night with the first live act then they put on some great music between acts then they stopped halfway through a great song where everyone was having a singalong dance along with. Just cut this off then started the next live act that just spoiled the atmosphere and ended our night. Please do not take this the wrong way there are quite a few negative but in all great place to go negative is they do short measure not all staff but some as I witnessed. They are also not over eager with helping people as we witnessed on Saturday evening. Some of the bar staff seem to make sure of the profits as they short measure on some of the drinks. Just keep to the beer and you will be good. They also advertise a Sunday Roast. Not sure how this is but if you go give yourself time as we visited today to try and after an hours wait we gave up paid for drinks and left. The staff didn’t seem too happy with this and did state it was due to them being very busy. Sorry but the place was dead only 7 tables and people who arrived after us and ordered got their food first. We left without trying food. If back in Auckland and the venue still open will pop in for a Friday or Saturday evening for a beer but not sure...

I was assaulted here, and then re-assaulted by the security guard.

The people who assaulted me were already known offenders of making trouble. As I was passing by the group of 10, one guy decides to shove me while I am holding three drinks. I made a comment about how he shove me, and if he could not shove me unless he's going to buy me drinks. The guy re-shoves me, so served him three free drinks. His friends weren't happy, and started attacking me. I went down the stairs, and security guard asked me to go up the stairs were all his friends were available to beat me up. Security guard goes to me, and tries to take me out but not the troublemakers. He roughs me up couple times, before I tell him I would leave calmly but he insisted and continued to grab me aggressively and handle me. As the security guard tries to escort me, one of the guys grabs my shirt while another one swings at me. I am explaining this to the security guard, which he decides to do nothing. The guy grabbing my shirt breaks my shirt, and I swing at him and couple of his friends. The security guard escorts me out.

Head security guard tells me they have been monitoring them for malice activity, and they were going to kick them out. Once they were out of the bar, they would let me back in. They kick them out; towards me.

Edit: The owner was definitely not there to witness the event. He only talked with me after, and told me to leave unless I wanted to have 10+ angry men attack me. As they released the guys...

Hmm - I know what you are thinking.  An Irish pub in the middle of the CBD keep your expectations low as it will be all about the drinks and banter not the food.  WRONG!!

Wow - what amazing tasty and beautifully presented food.  The calamari starter was real calamari and so fresh.  Just melted in the mouth and probably the best we have had in New Zealand.  You have to go just to try this.

I then went for a beef burger and it was just how I love them.  No lettuce making it taste all weird and tomato/beetroot bits slipping and sliding down my nice jumper.  Just really good quality tasty meat, cheese beautiful sauce and fresh bun.  With side of gorgeous fries I was so happy.  Yes hubby in his unofficial role as steak reviewer for Google went for the steak with peppercorn sauce, mash and peas with bacon.  Of course he had to have eggs added.  "Damn" he declared "that was a great plate of food".  People - this is a must visit!  Great friendly staff, cheap drinks and food that puts some of those super spendy restaurants near them to utter shame.  Love your work and we...
