My husband and I visited Starbucks at 220 Queen Street yesterday 18/2/2024.
There were quite a number of customers there but we managed to find two chairs for us. Upon arriving at the shop, there were still lots of used paper plates and coffee cups on most of the tables near the entrance. Therefore, we decided to sit on a high table opposite the cashier counter.
We ordered two cups of flat white, a raspberry and white chocolate muffin and two strawberry macaroons. Coffee was not so good but muffin was delicious.
Customers have to request a passcode from the staff there for using their toilets. The lady toilet was clean but the ventilation system was so bad that someone’s poo poo smell persistently overwhelmed the whole toilet while using the toilet there. Some exhaust fans should be installed to prevent such problems.
All staff there are very young and look like university undergraduates who are doing their part-time weekend jobs there so there are not much customer service there. No greetings or thank you to customers.
Anyway, it still worths a try if you live in Auckland CBD or happen to drive past...
Read moreGenuinely uncomfortable experience with the 9am shift today (March 27). The Baristas made a mistake with my order - not a big deal. I asked for the correct drink, and it was soooo uncomfortable. The girl taking orders looked so sad and confused about what to do in the situation, maybe she was training, I’ve been there lol. BUT the girl making the drinks was really rude and dismissive to the girl taking orders. Regardless of it being busy or understaffed, I just think it was very cold behavior. Neither one of them addressed me properly like a human being during the whole ordeal. Literally the girl taking orders just kind of seem like she shut down a bit and didn’t even tell me to wait at the counter for a new drink - nothing. It was distressing to watch. I hope y’all give her a hug or something, she looked so stressed.
In short I think the staff could be nicer to each other and not serve customers awkward experiences !
Coffee is bomb as always, it’s Starbucks 5/5 for the coffee. 1/5 for kindness behind the counter. Will be back tomorrow . To the girl taking orders - blink twice if...
Read moreBought $80 worth of cabinet sweets such as brownies, muffins, lamingtons etc and the youngish lady that served me was so rude. I couldn't read the labels because there was a line behind me so when I was explaining to her " oh the strawberry lamington with cream" she rudely said" oh that's a RASPBERRY one" in a huff. I said " I'm sorry I can't see the small signs because there is a line of people in front of the cabinet so I don't want to be rude and barge my way in front to read the correct labels"..... Service is extremely important to a business. I understand it gets busy but if you don't smile or greet a customer warmly then going back a second time will be rare. Also considering Starbucks is a wealthy company you'd expect them to have boxes to hold pastries and cakes... they put them in a star bucks bag so they're all squished on top of each other. Maybe it's management usually when you get bad customer service it's a sign that the management...
