New restaurant. Great interior and vibe. This review is based on high expectations, but is easily a top 10 restaurant in lagos. Upon entering the parking was very disorganized. There was about 2 layers of people basically body blocking me on the ground floor when I entered asking if I have reservations. A legitimate question, but the body language was very confrontational. Fortunately a very nice man in a suit ushered me in. I got out of the lift and another security man asked me where I'm going, strange question when there is only a restaurant on that floor. Hostess was a bit grumpy faced, menu was in a qr code, which is basically a pdf file formatted for a full size paper menu, making it nearly impossible to see the menu on a phone. Food choices were quite diverse and appetizing. Ordered a selection of dishes, all tasted good, except the chicken taquitos which was basically 4 spring rolls. Service was very polite and the order was re confirmed after ordering. Food came out at a good speed without any delays, as well as drinks. Only issue was that the waiter was over overly wanting to help and be attentive and this was actually intrusive. During a business meeting in the middle of an intense conversation, he would interrupt the meeting on multiple occasions. I would definitely go again, hope that the management can make these small improvements.

This is fine dining at its absolute finest (and costliest ☺️). From the beautiful display car at the entrance, you can already tell you are stepping into a super high-end restaurant. Beautifully laid out, classy decoration and not over crowded. You can't beat this ambience. The service is top quality as you would expect for such a place and the food is also quite good. There is quite a wide range of high quality food and drink options. If you are looking for somewhere to go to for a work or client outing that is not getting paid for out of your pocket or if you are super-wealthy then I don't think I can recommend a better place to go. But with super high quality comes a super high bill. I almost fell off my chair when the bill arrived and it was even more shocking because our group got a free bottle of tequila and free dessert (I assume it is because my boss knows the manager and not something they do for everyone with a big group that is spending a lot). I can't imagine what the bill would have been if we didn't get those on the house. I guess you get what you pay for. If you want to spend wisely then go somewhere else. If you are not paying out of pocket or have a bottomless pocket then go straight here and don't consider anywhere else.

Came here as a back up option after original plans fell through and I can’t really say I was impressed. The one thing that stands out about this establishment is their attention to decor and aesthetics. The restaurant has a classy and upscale ambience that feels exclusive. Once seated, we got the complimentary bread and pesto sauce which wasn’t bad and then we ordered drinks. I ordered a Moscow mule but what I received tasted like a watery natural ginger drink and I should’ve known it would be off when it didn’t come in the copper cup. Please note they don’t know how to make Moscow mules here. For mains, ordered the chicken tarragon and it was decent thanks to the mushroom sauce it came with. The chicken did look and feel dry. In terms of service, things started off okay when we arrived and were seated but then it was hard flagging someone down when we had a request after that. It took a really long time to get our bill and our server tried to be funny saying my card declined and walked away laughing with himself?? Odd. Overall, I think this restaurant is overpriced for the quality of food and drinks. I guess you pay more for the ambience if anything else

Gras Restaurant Lagos offers an impressive dining experience, combining great food, a beautiful atmosphere, and an overall enjoyable time. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the sophisticated yet inviting ambiance. The décor is tastefully done, with warm lighting, elegant furnishings, and a layout that allows for both intimate and group dining. It’s a perfect spot for a relaxed evening out.

The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the food. I ordered the Bolognese pasta, and it was nothing short of perfection. The rich, flavorful sauce coated the pasta beautifully, and every bite was a delight. I also had the steak, which was cooked to perfection, tender, juicy, and well-seasoned. The restaurant clearly pays attention to the quality of its ingredients and the precision of its chefs.

While the dining experience itself was exceptional, one aspect that stood out negatively was the staff's approach to tipping. Throughout the evening, it was evident that both the waitstaff and even security personnel subtly, and at times openly, solicited tips. While tipping is a standard practice in hospitality, the persistent nature of their requests somewhat dampened the experience. A high-end establishment like Gras should ensure that guests feel appreciated and comfortable rather than pressured.

That aside, my time at Gras was truly enjoyable. The restaurant excels in delivering quality cuisine in a beautiful setting. If management can address the tipping culture among staff, it would enhance the overall guest experience and solidify Gras as one of Lagos’ premier dining destinations. I would certainly return for the food and ambiance, it’s an experience...
