The A Steakhouse — Restaurant in Lagos State

A truly underwhelming experience. For a place named A Steakhouse, the steak was a 1 out of 10. I requested well-done, not burnt, but what I got was burnt. Considering the steak alone cost me N85,000, I expected far better quality.

The mocktails were just colored water with ice—absolutely no real flavor. I was too annoyed to even complain, but the waiter’s dodgy moves made things worse. Clearly aware that the steak was bad, he approached me to ask if my steak was good and when I said no, he tried to shift the blame to me. He claimed that the steak got burnt because I didn’t remove it from the hot plate immediately after it was served. If that was so important, why didn’t he mention it when bringing the food? Instead, he waited until it was ruined. Of course I am sure it was already burnt straight from the grill. Note that I only left the steak on the hot plate for less than a minute to take a picture.

If using a hot plate ruins the food, why not stop using it? I’ve eaten at plenty of restaurants that serve on hot plates without this issue. Overall, this was a disappointing and overpriced meal. I definitely won’t...

At first, I was intrigued by the location. It's a hidden gem with an indoor and outdoor setting. The indoor setting is a fine dinning experience and the bill is premium 😂.

It took me a while to make a decision on food cuz the menu wasn't that easy to understand. The waiters were respectful and helped in breaking down the menu.

Paella rice was about 25k and I shouted 🤣 but oh well. 😅 I ended up with the luiguine pasta with sea food and tomato sauce. The person I went with, ordered a burger. The burger was about 12k or so and same for the pasta.

Now over to the food experience, I was asked if I want it spicy and I said yes. What I got was just tomato sauce and I was wondering where the spiciness went. The pasta was OK. That means you can eat it and be satisfied. It's not bad but I don't think it's worth the money. If pasta cost N12,500 then the food has to really taste like an amazing experience.

Unfortunately, I didn't try the cocktails or mocktail.

The food came out in 15-20 mins. You can ask for nuts while you wait.

It was an okay experience...

The place is amazing, the layout is perfect, ordered a ribeye steak cooked medium it came just perfect with perfect seasoning. The bartender knows what he is doing our drinks came exactly how we ordered them. The only reason why i didnt give 5 stars is because the sides and the sauce has to be ordered separately and keep in mind the place is not cheap not by a long shot. But if you are looking for a perfect steak...you wont find any other.

Update on our second tasting of the grill...well to be honest i was disappointed the second time tried the wagyu steak and im certain that they didnt serve a wagyu steak..very chewy, cold and flavorless. We complained to the waiter and told us that he will inform the manager but no one came to check. The salad that we ordered came semi fried and very hot i mean its a salad why would it be fried and steaming hot i mean its supposed to be a salad not some fried Chinese wanabe...
