This is a joint review from a group a 3 friends. Two picky Italians and a food enthusiast from the Bahamas.

We had heard about the restaurant from the Instagram profile of Adam, the Head pizza Chef, who gave us the most passionate explanation of his pizzas, starting from the research work behind the dough and the combination of toppings. We have to say, that created a lot of expectations.

We all agreed on the lightness of the dough, to the point that we were all surprised by still being able to eat more pizza once we were finished.

On the toppings, the seasonal pizza really surprised us and reminded us of authentic Ceasar salad (though no chicken was on the pizza). Adam explained that there’s a close collaboration between the kitchen and local producers to serve the freshest possible final product, and that really came through when tasting.

There’s of course always room for improvement, but that seems to be well ingrained in the culture of the people...

The pizza is great, but the service was really bad. Our waiter had to check with us three times what pizza we wanted, because he kept forgetting to put in the order. After waiting for 40 minutes, we see him take a pizza out to a table, put it down, and take it back because it was not what they ordered; he takes this pizza back and puts it under the heat lamp, where it sits for 5 minutes. I remarked to my spouse that I felt bad for whomever would be served that cold pizza that someone else might have touched. Well you guessed it; we got served the pizza. When I informed the server that he was commiting a industry faux pas, he merely shrugged. The pizza was...

Awesome pizza and definitely not your typical kind. I really like that they have their own unique style, so when I saw one called “Carbonara-ish,” we had to try it. It didn’t disappoint! So many great flavor combos, and the crust had a really nice texture. The “Chorizo” one was also super tasty and had its own little twist on the classic chorizo flavor.

Extra points for having both garlic-infused oil and chili oil on the side. We definitely made good use of those! The place itself is lovely, and since they serve alcohol, it’s a great spot to enjoy some quality pizza with a couple of drinks....

We made a mistake in visiting this place before a movie... ... because this place deserves to be the focus of a night out. I hate to say this out of fear that Casbar will not keep the "hidden jem" status, but this is probably the best pizza in Oslo right now. The crust is crispy, tender and chewy ALL AT THE SAME TIME, the flavor combinations are unexpected and spot-on, and service is above average for anywhere in Oslo. I cannot wait to visit again without other plans for the evening.
