I have been under a racist and hateful attack for the first time in my life in this restaurant from one of their employees. So yesterday I was just casually buying some coffee from them and I am always nice and respectful to service persons so my order was taken by this host/waiter who as soon as he knew “my nationality” he started attacking and offending me because “he doesn’t like people coming from my country” (Can you believe that?). I was treated really badly and this waiter offended me for no reason at all but “the color of my passport”. I refused his racism multiple time and asked him to not talk to me like that but he kept going on on his offense. I really don’t believe how can they let someone like that to work in customer service area and this was the first time ever to approach such an incident and the irony is it is coming from a person who is working in customer service.I have the incident taped and recorded for proof. If these are the standards they follow in hiring people then I don’t think anyone should deal with them. Yesterday it was me. Tomorrow it can be anyone. I have sent an email to the company with some proof. I will update when I get a feedback from them. Until then BE AWARE OF THIS PLACE. UPDATE: They did nothing to the racist person and they tried to DELETE my review. Very poor management and handling to customers complains. STAY AWAY FROM...
Read moreCaveat emptor! Passible rosti, farro soup & lamb kebab. My "bouillabaisse" broth was sweet with mussels and shaved fennel. Tragically the white fish with the "bouillabaisse"was "off" with a distinct ammonia smell. When we were told that they had only one order left I assumed that they took great pride in only offering the freshest of seafood (as any compitant professional chef should). Any professional restaurant chef always checks his mise en place before service to insure the quality of highly perishable products. A waterfront restaurant that serves bad fish is putting profit over quality (especially in non land locked nation like Norway!) It should have never left the kitchen and is inexcusable. With a vast fish market nearby it is laughably obscene. Service was efficient even though she was waiting on at least 10 tables. Understaffed in the dining room yet she did show attention to detail in serving us.I just wish the attention to detail applied to the quality of food. That is after all the purpose of a real restaurant (and not a tourist trap). Quality food and service with a tangible value perception. It's not rocket science. Such a shame. Great location across the street from the stunning Oslo Opera House and nice decor. Coffee or glass of wine yes. Food...
Read moreWe had the most terrible experience ever. Unbelievably stupid way to talk to clients!! First the manager of the place stopped us at the stairs in a very rude way that the terrasse is full and they have no place for us up. we were (5 ladies). So we said ok we can sit downstairs and order. Then while my friends were on their way to sit, I asked about the toilets but then the same rude guy who told us in a very bad way that there is no place upstairs, called me in a very loud and rude way (like I was a homeless person) : HEY YOU!! Where are you going??? You have to order first then use the toilet. We NEVER experienced such a bad and rude service EVER!!! We decided to leave then I went back to talk to the same guy to tell him why we left and that we felt badly treated. Then the answer I got was: OK!!! In a way, he was telling me to go to hell and I don't care!!! We will never go to that restaurant again. Never felt so badly treated. We always travel and try new restaurants. We will all shocked from the treatment and the way he talked to us. He is not an ethnic Norwegian but he spoke Norwegian well. Rudest person ever and should not be dealing with clients!! We were there on may...
