Royal Gastropub — Restaurant in Oslo

Me and my husband together with a friend and our 16 months old baby. We sit here, my husband and our friend drink beer while i had a hot chocolate, We arrived around 6pm and almost living before 8pm. If you dont like a child in your place you must put a sign «KIDS NOT ALLOWED» or did not let us in since We have a child or put a sign «PARENTS NOT ALLOWED TO DRINK BEER WITH A CHILD». And for a good record your guard and Oslo station’s guard threatening us by calling a police? For what ground? For telling our right as a customers and as a parents? You insulted us and yet you dont want to hear our side? You just wanted to show how powerful you are and we makes feel a bad parents? Have’nt you seen this sitaution before? Parents together with thier child and they are drinking beer or alcohol? Hello! telling us that our child should not be in your place is unacceptable. Learn hospitality industry and hire people with brain not just height. Its useless hiring with height but not brain at all.

“Are you living?” Your guard said. “10 minutes then we leave” my husband said. “Is someone waiting for the table?” My husband asked. From that moment he should shut up and did not continue more but instead “your child should not be here with people around drinking beer”. Your guard said. Is this place only for alcoholic people? And people who don’t drink alcohol can not sit. Are you only a pub and not a restaurant. We been here many times. And this is the first time we encounter a situation like this. Worst insulting us first before leaving! Never...

Never been fooled by a pub or cafe like they did.

I’ve ordered a small fish soup and get soup and 3 slices of bread with butter.

Next day while ordering another fish soup but bog size I’ve been told that I have to pay for the bread. When I said to the lady that bread it is included in price she checked the menu and said “ahh really sorry that’s my fault.

When we get soup we get a huge bowl with same quantity like a small soup but almost for double price.

And also reduced bread portion from 3 to 2 slices.

When I mentioned to the lady that the bowl is big but soup is same she start to explain me that it is the big soup.

Shame on them

I won’t recommend to no one to go there and be fooled.

There’s more places near by with best food and cheaper prices. And stuff is more politely Just look by the spoon and you’ll understand how much was there,and there is butter also.

Something has changed. This used to be a solid option for a good burger and beer, but those times are gone. The burgers have become considerably smaller while the prices have gone up. The onion rings are a half frozen, soggy, cold sorry mess. The draft beers on the other hand aren't cold, they're lukewarm.

Service has disappeared as well, but this is common for restaurants where you order from the table using a QR code. This could be a good thing in some circumstances, depending on the place and setting. They expect to be tipped BEFORE service in the app, which is extremely unprofessional and absolutely not something we should encourage. There are employees everywhere, but there's no interaction. They just deliver what you order from your phone.

There are better gastropubs nearby. Sorry to say that you should stay away from this one. It used to be a...
