Tremendous burger at a fair price, Ate both the bluecheese-burger and one with pickled chilis and they were both really good at an acceptable price.
That being said, the service I was not impressed with;
We arrived outside by the sign that says “wait to be seated” or whatever. After being plainly ignored by the waiter we just sat down where ever seeing it was mostly empty. After being ignored some more, I jokingly told the waiter that we “rudely sat down” , but it was clear that she did not appreciate it. Off to a bad start. My bad, partially,,
Anyways we decided what we were gonna get. Two burgers. So we ordered and I asked the waiter if it would be possible for them to cut the burgers in half, since we wanted to share. That request she denied. She said the kitchen had decided not to do that. For presentation reasons probably? Fair enough, idk. She explained that if we wanted the burgers cut in half, we had to do it ourself using the butterknife-like equipment we had gotten. I asked again a bit surprised if there were no possibility to get any help with that, seeing I didn’t want to make a mash out of the burgers with the worthless knives we had received. So much for “presentation” .. But she said no. She apologized though, but I generally think it’s quite bad practice to just deny a customer’s request without at all trying to help them solve their problem in any way whatsoever ..
Well, after that we got series of other servers. I think she felt that I was rude and I think I made her a bit uncomfortable. I didn’t mean to, and I really don’t think my request was too unreasonable. Awkward situation.
Anyways, ate the food, it was great, paid, hit them with the NO TIP ! And left. What can...
Read moreI visited this location after finding it recommended on the Find Me Gluten Free app as safe for coeliacs. On arrival, I made sure to ask about gluten free options, cross-contamination, and whether this could be communicated clearly to the kitchen. While the staff member did reassure me, I did feel a little brushed off when asking about the details, which was a bit discouraging.
The burger itself looked amazing – I ordered the cheese and bacon burger with a gluten free bun (extra cost) and fries, which I was told were cooked in a separate fryer. The food was delicious, and visually it was spot on.
Unfortunately, about 20 minutes after eating I began experiencing discomfort, and by the next morning I had clear coeliac symptoms. I hadn’t eaten out anywhere else that day, so I believe something must have gone wrong with cross-contamination, despite reassurances.
I really want to highlight this because the food and concept are great, but safety for coeliacs depends on absolute clarity and care in the kitchen. Please, if possible, ensure staff are trained to handle these conversations with understanding and that the processes for avoiding cross-contamination are rock solid.
To others with coeliac disease: I’d recommend asking very detailed questions before ordering here, and please share your own experiences so we can help the community stay safe while still...
Read moreMaybe my expectations were too high, or maybe they just had a lousy day at work. The waitress seemed preoccupied with doing nothing all the time, and getting her attention was not easy. After we finally did order the drinks came quickly, but the food took a little on the longer side. I got the classic burger (ordered medium well) with extra cheese. The burger was definitely well done, though not dry, so the patty was OK. The top bun however dominated the dish, which would have been fine had it not been dry. They seemed to have tried to compensate this by frying it a little too much, with little success. Chicken wings on the other hand were a delight, with awesome sauce and juicy meat. Dirty fries were good, but tbh a little drenched in all the toppings. Getting the bill took forever, as the waitress just left, and I had to ask for it repeatedly. The place itself is cozy with good chairs and booths, with also an option to sit at the bar. My overall experience was way below expectations, and I'm hoping they just had an off day, or it's related to the Corona situation. Either way, I'm gonna give them another chance, but if nothing changes you don't have to look very far down the street to get to...
