Had the pasta carbonara and I must admit it was not a good experience. The sauce had separated so that the bottom of the plate was soaked with fat and the remains of cream and egg was covering the pasta. The bacon was tasteless and the accompanying bread had been lightly toasted in an effort to camouflage, that it was slightly stale.
A couple of minutes after receiving my meal I was asked if everything was in order. Unfortunately, I did not take the opportunity to voice my complaint as I was still contemplating it. I only made my objections to the food known when I asked for the bill. The waitress offered me a dessert and/or coffee, which I declined. I would have received a new portion had I made my objections known earlier.
The restaurant is part of a chain in Oslo, and I would like to add, that I've previously visited the one at Aker Brygge and been very satisfied with the food served there.
The restaurant at Østbanehallen most likely suffers from having a lot of customers only once since it's situated at the Oslo Central Train Station. It has received critique from the newspaper "Aftenposten" after it opened some months ago and I would suggest choosing the one at Aker Brygge if you are tempted by the...
Read moreThe food was good, however the service was not the best. First a waiter tells me to sit on a table and that they will send a waiter to my table. I wait 10 minutes, no waiter. And then i ask another waiter and she says "Oh, but we are not serving in this area", so i find another table and a new servant comes to my table. She does'nt look too happy to take my order. Then i asks when my pizza will be done she looked annoyed and said: "10 minutes". It took 15 minutes. Then the Coke came and the food. It tasted delicious, which was a little boost. Then i asked another waiter if i can pay, she did'nt ask me if the food was good so i tried saying something positive like "The food was very good", she did'nt care just went her way after i paid 🤷🏻♂️ The atmosphere was amazing though, people were laughing, enjoying their time, not too loud or any annoying music. Everything was calm. The restaurant also has a nice architecture and location. Overall i recommend the restaurant, but the waiters has to engage more with their guests, and in a kind manner, then Olivia would easily become one of the best...

My second dish got delayed forever and when I asked what was going on the waiter mumbled some excuse and they brought me sort of what I ordered- with a different type of pasta, making me realize they had entirely forgotten my order (mistakes happen) and improvised something quick with pasta that was already cooked, since the rest could be put together quickly (I didn't care, but I would've liked to be asked first).
I pretended I can't tell the difference between tagliatelle and tortellini and then ordered dessert and coffee asking for the bill altogether, explaining in a rather neutral tone that I simply didn't want to wait longer. The waiter took a while and didn't bring the bill as I asked, but at least informed me both the dessert and the coffee were on the house, so I just thanked him and shrugged it off. I even tipped for roughly what I had been discounted.
So the bottom line is... don't expect the fastest service at peak hours, but the staff works their butts off and the restaurant clearly cares about...
