Unexpectedly great food. The initial pictures on Google Maps don't do it justice. We went for the 7 course meal and really enjoyed each dish. The reindeer tartare was a real hit (even if we don't typically eat tartare), and the fish of the day (anglerfish) was excellent. The pea soup was very good, but didn't really have much of a taste (mostly a lot of cream), and the stockfish was fine, but not great. Mostly I think the oil was a bit over-used, and the batter was quite thick and nothing special (a tempura like batter might have gone better and highlighted the fish more). There also wasn't enough of the mayonnaise-like sauce, so you ended up mostly tasting the dough batter. In general they went a bit overboard on the dill (3 of 6 savory dishes had it), but on the other hand the pickled vegetables really added a welcome brightness to the dishes. The wine pairing was also very good, with a surprisingly good Cava and Spanish Txakoli white wine. The Beaujolais was a bit underwhelming, and didn't quite balance with the other stronger flavours (the fish of the day was served with a powerful balsamic reduction), but also not bad. Wait staff were very friendly. I'd rate it at a level of a...

Børsen Spiseri in Norway offers a wonderful dining experience for those who are looking for a taste of traditional Norwegian cuisine. The restaurant is located in the heart of Oslo, and the décor is both modern and elegant. The staff is friendly, hospitable, and well-informed, ensuring that your dining experience is both comfortable and enjoyable.

The menu is rich in seafood and locally sourced meat dishes. Their specialty is their Planker, which is a type of grilled seafood platter that always comes in large portions. The dishes are cooked to perfection, and the presentation is excellent. You'll love the freshness and the taste of each dish.

The restaurant provides customers with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, and you'll appreciate the quiet ambiance and the authenticity of the décor. The prices are reasonable, given the quality of the dishes and the ambiance of the restaurant.

Overall, a meal at Børsen Spiseri is an unforgettable dining experience, and one that you won't want to miss. The quality of the food, service, and atmosphere are superb, and the dedication to traditional Norwegian cuisine is admirable. I highly recommend this restaurant, and I look forward to...

We had dinner at this place and got a table inside. The restaurant seems to be an historic building with low ceiling, visible beams and uneven floor - very charming in my opinion. We decided to just share a starter and did the Taste of Lofoten and got a lovely cured piece of whale, stockfish brandade and a great smoked arctic char. There was also some lovely fresh bread on the table that were awesome! When we got the mains served, the waitress had mixed up our order so she had to take the food back. The result was that my risotto with marinated stockfish were kept while they were making the right dish for my wife. Due to this the risotto was a bit lukewarm and overdone by the time I got it - but it did taste very good. My wife had the whale steak and that was prepared right and were tender and tasty. I ended the meal with a pannacotta with cloudberries that were also great - the pannacotta had the right consistency and it was great to have the berries on top to give a link to the area. All in all, one of the best meals in Lofoten. Menu is quite limited and it would be great to see more fresh fish on the menu. Remember to book in advance as this is a...

The ambiance here is truly unique—charming, intimate, and steeped in history. You can feel it in the walls. The strong scent of dried cod hits you as you enter, which I actually found intriguing and fitting for the experience. The space felt chic yet casual and cozy, like a blend of cottage warmth and old-school steakhouse charm. The menu is short and straightforward, but full of tempting choices that made it hard to decide. We eventually settled on the Taste of Lofoten platter, fish soup, lamb rack, and the Stockfish Royal—which we came especially to try. It exceeded all expectations. The combination of butter egg, cod, and crispy cured ham was both unexpected and incredibly flavorful. The triple protein made it a filling dish, but every bite was a burst of rich, layered taste. We also had the pleasure of chatting with the lovely Mariam (apologies if I’m misspelling her name), who kindly shared the history behind the stockfish and gave us some fascinating facts about the Lofoten region. Overall, we had a very special and memorable experience. If you’re nearby, I highly recommend dining here. It felt cozy and welcoming. The service is excellent and the food was tasty.

I had high expectations after having read this restaurant's excellent reviews, but in the end I was quite disappointed. The ambience in this restaurant is incredible and the waitress who welcomed us to our table was both swift and service-minded. Those are the two positive points about this restaurant. The first disappointment became a fact before we even entered the restaurant. On the day of the restaurant visit, the menu was changed. I had been looking forward to a traditional Norwegian Christmas meal, but that was completely gone from the menu. Instead of pinnekjøtt or ribbe, I ended up ordering a stockfish soup and a lamb shank. The soup was OK, but I wouldn't say it is worth the 150 NOK... and I would never order it again. The lamb shank was acceptable. Very tender, but also somewhat dry. It lacked a bit of salt and there was nowhere near enough sauce. Alongside there were mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables. The mashed potatoes were tastiest part of the dish and I find that to be somewhat depressive. Definitely not worth the price of 350 NOK. Because of the mediocre dishes, I decied not to order any dessert. I'm not visiting again.

Must goto place for the building and history since 1800s. Longer a little longer and enjoy the indoor decoration. Beautiful wooden beams and second floor dining with a central staircase leading up. Service was marvellous and food was great. The best fish is here and not anywhere else. The cured whale and salmon was one of its kind and the monk fish, halibut and stock fish was all cooked to perfection. Seasonal rhubarb was a delightful dessert and the bill that came was a little more than the usual meals in Lofoten but totally worth it. Explore the place outside as you can see a sauna and platform to jump into the waters. Sunset here is nice. If you are coming from the city area take about 20 min walk up the long bridge. Go explore the hotel next door where it also housed the original settlement of a grocery store.
