So me and a friend ordered food to go just to have it ready when we got there but decided to stay for a drink before leaving .. when we told the bartender we wanted to stay instead we were hit with a disgusting very bitter response of we were not welcome to take space at the bar, even though we were ordering drinks. The then bartender told us because we ordered to go we couldn't sit. We were very disgusted. At the time the whole place maybe had 9 people there, plenty space to sit where ever you really wanted to. So it will be a first and a last for me not to mention our food was soggy and cold so $100 down the drain not tip from me that's for sure!!

After a morning and late afternoon of slogging through the streets of downtown Brooklyn, it was enjoyable to step into a place that's as comfortable as an old pair of jeans 👖. Broken in and fits just right. The very same can be said about O'Keefe's Bar & Grill, it does not pretend to be something that it's not. With simple, decent cuisine which is relatable and good drink options this establishment has maintained their WINNING formula. So whenever you find yourself amongst the canyons of Downtown Brooklyn, make your way over to Court Street, step into O'Keefe's, and take a load off. Trust me you'll be glad that you did.

Love everything about this place, been going here probably over 11 or 12+ years now! It's my go to for any type of meals (healthy and that little extra) from entrees, to burgers, three dif types of fries, appetizers to even salads. They have a mix of different alcoholic drinks and frozen as well! I must say, they do have the biggest most enjoyable salad I have ever had with loads of variety that never disappoint..! My other favourite is there mozzarella sticks, that cheese is amazing, no place can ever compare too, a must have if there! 5+ stars all the way!!!

We (A party of 3) had went here to have drinks and kill time prior to a movie. The bar was about an eight full maybe a pinch less, basically not a busy night The waitress was okay when it came to service. The waiting time/attentiveness to know we had arrived (basically sit down after security Card's you) was slow. We had ordered fried shrimp, chick nachos ad cheese and mussels along with a few drinks. Now I'm a Guinness man. If it is altered, I'm mad. The Guinness tasted light as anything else. It was a far cry from Guinness. I had let the company with me sample the Guinness, and right away they verified it was not like Guinness. I left it alone because the plan is to eat then see the movie. The company I was with had mixed drinks they both knew well and finished slowly. The food finally came out after a 25 minute wait. Mussels were bland and rubbery, chicken pieces on the chicken nachos and cheese were cut into super tiny square trying the create the illusion that there was a lot. they used regular cheddar cheese which hardens right away after about 15 minutes being out last but not least. The shrimp tasted store bought and as if it was sitting in lemon too long. Either way a rushed food in belly experience. The salt in the wound was from the waitress who took our bill split the difference but kept the exact gratuity of the same so rather than $14 from $75, it was $14 x 3 . Basically more than half the bill. The service nor food wasn't worth that much. We actually felt ripped off. Not sure who was in control of billing but they voided instantly the waitress cash tip. I know tips are a touchy subject but I never went out and paid near over 50% ( 75.39 total, 13.27$ x 3 tip) of the actual meal especially when there was a long wait time to close the bill, request another drink, and mediocre service to ask for a recommendation. I haven't went to the movies in almost a year. Poor show. I was in the area to see black panther. The company I was with and I went straight to McDonalds. The value was way higher. This is for more of an after drink spot or a place you'd go where you're that type of drunk where you would eat anything and not care...

My experience here was HORRIBLE! As a mid thirties black woman, there was a tall 6 foot white man who was one of the bartenders, who totally acted racist towards me as if I didn’t belong there. He made my drink, barely even acknowledged me. The bar was completely busy and the drink (margarita) was disgusting, so when talking to the waitress at our table, she told me I can take it back especially because it was still full because I barely drunk anything. Every time I tried to get this 6 foot tall white man’s attention he kept walking past me acting as if he didn’t know I was trying to get his attention. So one of the times I kinda did I wave with my fingers to get his attention, he turn to me and said that was rude. I was confused and said “who me?” He said yea and put his hand in my face basically an inch away from my nose acting like he was demonstrating. Only difference is, there’s no way I my fingers was able to stretch across the bar to reach his body, yet alone his face as a 5 foot woman to his 6 feet. So that was totally inappropriate and rude to actually put his big huge hands in my face as a WOMAN customer because I absolutely did NOT do that to him! I still apologized and said that wasn’t my intentions if you feel that way, I was just trying to get your attention for the longest and you seemed busy. He said “yea, well, what do u want?” I told him I wanted to switch my drink out for something else he said “uhm no, u can buy another drink.” I said yea but the waitress told me since I barely touched my drink I can switch it out for something else. He said “well I’ll have a talk with that waitress then” and walked away. Just totally rude, but just switched out my white friend drink 2 seconds before I asked, so the problem he had with me was very clear and obvious. The blatant different treatment from him between everyone else who skin color was white and mine which is black was obvious and he wanted it to be known. Don’t go here and if you do beware of the tall 6 foot white man bartender. He was the tallest one behind the bar so you can’t miss or confuse him with...

I have been to this bar off and on for over 10 years. For the last several months I occasionally dropped in on Fridays, around midday. Even though it's usually crowded at that time, the service at the bar is pretty decent. However, I decided to drop in on a Tuesday and had a terrible experience with the bartender working at the time. I usually go to the bar, order a drink and go over to the small area across from the bar where it isn't crowded and you can either stand or sit on a stool. I've never had a problem with that routine until yesterday. I was about to order a.drink when the bartender immediately asked if I'm going to sit at the bar, where there were a few empty seats in tight spaces. I said no, and pointed to the other area. He said I will have to.order from the server. When I walked over to the other area the server approached me with a menu. I told her I wasn't going to order food, I just wanted a drink. She too questioned me about sitting at the bar, then walked away. I stood near the bar again, thinking she was going to let the bartender know. She didn't! The bartender in the mean time was totally consumed in a conversation with people at the bar and I was completely ignored by both him and the server. So basically I was denied service because I didn't want to sit at the bar, however, I must say that I couldn't help but wonder if I was being discriminated against for some reason. I left there and discovered another bar where the bartender was friendly, and service was good. In these times when established businesses are struggling or shutting down, and consumers are not too eager about tipping anymore, you would think that employees at places like bars/restaurants would and should be...
