Shook — Restaurant in Arequipa

Its a newly opened restaurant inside a courtyard, nice ambiente, also possible to sit outside. We've stumbled on it by accident and honestly this is the best restaurant we have been to in Arequipa so far. We had the La Piba burger with fries and the La Forever burger with sweetpotatoe fries and it was so good that we completely forgot to take a picture. High meat quality, really well prepared, also they serve the best fried we found so far in Peru. They were really crispy and came with a fantastic homemade garlic-yoghurt-sauce straight from heaven. Mediocre burgers, bad fries, okay drinks This one honestly surprised me in a bad way after reading the reviews.

I'm not sure what impresses other people, but the burgers were quite bad, or at least not special at all. Basic buns, pork shops that were more like bacon, soggy lettuce, tomato, pickles. Really nothing special and I dare to say I could make a tastier burger. My girlfriend had a beef based burger and this was the same. Very bad fries (too hard, too much fat and just come with ketchup or a sour kinda sauce).

I really missed flavors, good fries and well constructed burgers.

The restaurant has recently opened in a little backyard in Old Town Arequipa. We ordered two alpaca Burger. Waitress was lovely and the food came quick. Very delicious Burger and Andean Potatoes/ Sweet Potatoes. Only downsides: although the meat was cooked to perfection it arrived only warm, not hot. Secondly the sweet potatoes were overcooked.
