⭐ 1 Star – Extremely Disappointed with the Service at Café Noel, SM City Clark I’m writing this review to express my deep disappointment with the treatment my fiancée received during her recent visit to Café Noel at SM City Clark. She came in for a short break before a business meeting and respectfully ordered a drink, knowing it would be impolite to occupy a table without purchasing anything, even though she had already eaten elsewhere. After finishing her drink — which, to be honest, was not even enjoyable — she asked for the bill. What happened next was both offensive and unprofessional. A female server, with long hair tied in a white ponytail, returned to ask her if she had a discount. Naturally, my fiancée was confused. The only discount she is aware of is the one given to persons with disabilities — which immediately made her feel offended and judged. Was the server implying that she has a disability? Simply because she only ordered one drink? This is an outrageous and insensitive assumption. My fiancée chose not to confront the server on the spot out of respect for herself and her upcoming client meeting, but she did leave a note expressing her disappointment. Still, this does not change the fact that no customer should be made to feel embarrassed or judged based on what they order or how they look. A gentle reminder to Café Noel: Serving a single drink doesn’t make someone less deserving of respect. It certainly doesn’t give any staff member the right to make assumptions about your customer’s health or financial status. First off, we were not advised regarding the serving time. When the food finally arrived, one of the dishes, angus beef tapa, turned out to be pork samgyup and tasted like one. Also, the Caesar salad which the menu stated was good for 2-3 pax, was actually just good for 1 pax when it was served. Three out of four cakes we ordered were truly disappointing. The chiffonelle cake tasted stale; it's as if they used spoilt milk; the dayap cake's topping felt gelatinous and had no hint of yema taste at all; while the crushed graham base of the blueberry cheesecake was hard.

When we raised our concern regarding the chifonelle cake to one of the servers, he stated that they didn't notice any odd taste when they took a bite from the served slice. He even insinuated that the sour taste might be from the blueberry cheesecake, which was quite impossible since we all tried the said cake and had the same observation. We then voiced it out, which made him go back to get another slice and serve it to us, saying it's from a new cake brought out from their kitchen, and he did not even bother to apologize for the inconvenience and bad experience it caused us. Upon paying, they forgot to give the receipt, which prompted us to ask for it.

UPDATED REVIEW: Oct. 23, 2022 Experience This used to be our go-to-cafe whenever we go home to Pampanga but to my utter disappointment, I'd like to take back the 5-star review I gave four years ago. Our birthday lunch was ruined by their epic fail service. The cake was served earlier than what was agreed. (Take note, they even asked if they will serve it already and we replied, "Later." both in Kapampangan and English. There was no reason for them not to understand.) We had one menu for a group of six. Our bill was given so late, we had to follow up pa! Those little details shattered the bubble of our beloved Cafe Noelle experience and expectation. But what really made us say, "This is the last!!! Never again!" was the food! We had burnt, dried and not so fresh salmon, bland and coarse mashed potatoes, lousy coleslaw!
