If I could give this place a zero-star review, I would. Went there to try out the food. Like a real food vlogger, I like trying out new places so I can share the experience for people to enjoy. I did not enjoy this place even on the first try. I rarely give failing reviews. I'd rather not. But this one, you've got to read. I eat a lot because I have a very big appetite. I also do food reviews and occasionally vlog. Thus, when I went out with a friend and decided to check this place out, we went for a table that could seat 4. That sets the tone for this review. We were promptly given the menu. After choosing what to eat, I called for a waiter to give them my order. There were 3 today who were just standing around and not looking at our direction. I had to call just to get their attention. Next, we haven't even given our order, which was a lot and we were already asked to leave our seats. They wanted us to move to another table on which we insisted that we wanted a bigger table (for 4) because we were going to order a lot. The waiter insisted that we move to another tablr because apparently, they told another customer that they would be seated on our table. We insisted on retaining our seats. The waiter went away to apologize to the other customer without even taking our orders. Another waitress went over and insisted that we be seated elsewhere. I mean, come on? It is not uncommon for 2 peope to sit in a table with 4 chairs. We were going to order a lot of food and sitting on a 2-chair table is not an option. Why do we have to insist 3 times just to stay on our seats? Seriously? Why would anyone eat here when the service is that poor? Don't bother eating here guys. If the restaurant would just for people in like puzzles without even considering their orders, don't eat there. They are just for profit. This restaurant just wants your money. It has no soul. Stay away from Hawker Chan.

It’s the first time I dined in this restaurant. I’ve heard about this restaurant but never had the opportunity to experience dining here, coz it’s not available where I live until a few months ago when it opened in SM City Clark. It’s always packed whenever I pass by, but yesterday it’s finally not busy. I was hesitant at first to be honest because I didn’t like Laksa that I had in a mall in Manila Chinatown years ago. So my first impression of it was ruined. But I was still intrigued so here we are. Here were my orders and my review on them: Season Vegetables - it’s surprisingly delicious!! It’s sweet but not too sweet, it’s perfect for my taste! Fishball Laksa - crashed my bad impression of it, real hard! It’s so good!!! I was hesitant to add the calamansi but when I did, oh wow, it elevated the taste even more! I love soup and I love this! It’s so soothing and filling. Roasted Duck and Pork - this is the reason for four stars. I have always wanted to try roast duck coz it looks so appetizing! Unfortunately it didn’t taste appetizing. It’s malansa. The skin is the only consolation. But take this with a grain of salt. It’s my first time and I’m used to chicken meat. So this might have affected my review of it. I didn’t actually finish eating it but the roasted pork is fine. Barley with Calamansi - this is refreshing and its sweetness is just right for me. I love it! It is quite affordable and the ambience is so sleek and cozy.

We decided to dine in at Hawker Chan due to the great experience we had in another branch. Ordered the same meal like usual. The food arrived after 10-15 minutes. The bbq pork was okay, but something was off with the hainanese chicken. We weren't able to take a picture of it, but it had blood and it was still undercooked. Some parts felt that it was still raw but we still tried to eat it because we didn't want to waste any food. Sadly, the chicken was not good because it also had fishy smell and taste. The pork bbq was okay, but I also felt they gave us a small portion tho. Additionally, the service would've been better. The guy in the front was the only one doing his actual job (he accommodated us and served our orders immediately), but the lady who took our bill, expecting to get our change asap, was seen to be chatting with the cash registrar for at least 10 minutes. We had to follow up just for them to process the payment. For us, this is somehow an unprofessional thing to do. If you want to get chatty with your co-worker, please do it once the shift ends or during your break time - not in between work hours unless if it's something urgent/work-related. We love Hawker Chan due to the food and our previous experience. I hope you guys would improve on this, because this wouldn't be a great experience for people who would dine the first time they see this branch.

Restaurant Review: Disappointing Experience Overall

We recently dined and unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory.

Food Quality The food, which used to be a highlight of this restaurant, has significantly declined. The BBQ pork and crispy pork dishes were mostly composed of fat, with very little lean meat to enjoy. To make matters worse, the soya chicken was undercooked.

Service The service was equally disappointing. Orders took an unreasonably long time to arrive, and even then, they were incomplete. Dishes were rarely served together, leaving us waiting and needing to follow up multiple times for the remaining items. This lack of coordination disrupted the meal and made the experience frustrating.

Staff and Management It was clear that the staff were undertrained and struggling to keep up with the demands of the dining area. This, coupled with what seemed to be understaffing, led to poor service quality. The team lacked the efficiency and attentiveness expected in a restaurant setting, and it showed throughout the experience.

Conclusion Overall, this visit was a major letdown. The combination of poorly prepared food, bad service, and insufficient staffing made for an unpleasant dining experience. We hope the management takes steps to address these issues because the restaurant’s reputation is clearly at risk.

This will be our last visit to...
