Restaurant Review and Commendation: Gerry’s Grill, SM Clark
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Gerry’s Grill in SM Clark, and I must say it was a delightful experience. Gerry’s Grill is known for its warm and welcoming atmosphere, and my visit did not disappoint.
Cuisine and Dishes:
Pinakbet: The Pinakbet was a perfect blend of fresh vegetables and savory flavors. The vegetables were cooked just right, maintaining their crispiness while absorbing the delicious sauce. Lechon Kawali: The Lechon Kawali was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The meat was well-seasoned and perfectly cooked, making each bite a joy. Bangus ala Pobre: The Bangus ala Pobre was another highlight. The fish was fresh and flaky, with a garlic topping that enhanced its natural flavors. It was cooked to perfection and was both light and satisfying. Pancit Bihon: The Pancit Bihon was flavorful and well-prepared, with a good balance of noodles, vegetables, and meat. It’s a classic dish that Gerry’s Grill does exceptionally well. Sinigang Soup: The Sinigang Soup was a heartwarming bowl of comfort. The broth was tangy and savory, with tender pieces of meat and a generous amount of vegetables. It had the perfect level of sourness that defines a great sinigang. Buko Pandan: For dessert, the Buko Pandan was a refreshing end to the meal. It was sweet but not overly so, with a lovely coconut flavor and the distinct taste of pandan.
Service and Atmosphere: The service at Gerry’s Grill was exceptional. The staff was attentive, especially to Chan, friendly, and quick to respond to any requests. The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting, with a relaxed vibe that made the dining experience even more enjoyable.
Overall Experience: Gerry’s Grill at SM Clark offers a fantastic dining experience with its wide array of delicious Filipino dishes. The quality of the food, combined with excellent service and a pleasant atmosphere, makes it a must-visit. I highly recommend trying their Pinakbet, Lechon Kawali, and Buko Pandan. Read moreVisited this branch 4 days ago for lunch. Ordered 2 appetizers: crunchy squid heads and fried kang kong leaves. For main dish: grilled tuna belly and grilled squid. First the service: staff are friendly, it was not crowded, there are empty tables due to being a weekday. But it took awhile for our server to come by and ask for our drink and order. After we finished with our orders, our appetizers took a long time to come. To our surprise, were served with our main dish. Reason you order an appetizer is to be munching on it while waiting for the main menu., it really defeats the purpose. The good: The crunchy squid heads were really good, fried kang kong leaves they're as expected. These are so far the only food that I was excited about after I tasted them. The bad: Let's start with the rice, it was overcooked. It has the consistency of a rice cake. Every grain has melted and formed as one unit. Grilled squid chewy, overcooked and cold. Grilled tuna belly didn't taste fresh, the meat was also rubbery. We eat lots of fish, you know when the fish is fresh or been frozen for a long time. Why is everything sweet, loaded with sugar. Vinegar dipping sauce was very sweet, no acidity or tanginess at all, the Gerrys soy base dipping sauce, the tuna, the sauce or marinate of the grilled squid. We asked for our checked, a staff came with out bill, gave my credit card...wow, it took about 10 minutes for her to come back for our final receipt. Mind you again, the place was not full, with several empty tables. Experience was fair...
Read moreI was here last month with my hubby n brother. We had ⁶ Sinigang, Bangus, crispy pata, iced ⁵ ube macapuno delight. All the food served 65 good.
My new fave is the ube macapuno delight because macapuno was sticky, soft, and sweet.
Staff are friendly, accommodating, and attentive.
Today, i was disappointed because they just used coconut strings for my fave dessert Ube Macapuno Delight. This will be the last time I will be ordering this. Maybe I will try the halo halo next time. Though manager Carlo offered to add more macapuno, it did not make a difference. I just had a hard time finishing it all.
The difference between the coconut string and macapuno is very distinct. Macapuno string is round and soft, while coconut string is flat, not sticky, and a bit hard. So it's possible that their commissary or main kitchen failed to deliver the right quality macapuno.
I hope they...
