I never went to this place for years because for some reason I thought it'd be just some tourist trap. HOWEVER, upon finally going to this place... this place is damn good. I bought some beef dish with peanut sauce, it was really good to say the least. It actually reminded me of African cuisine way they used peanut sauce, but of course this was a totally different experience despite this similarity. They waiter handed me a little sauce dish along with my meal with that bagoong shrimp paste stuff (I think). I dabbled some into my meal, and was surprised by how excellent that combination was. That said, my girlfriend ordered some fried noodles shrimp thing (also really good btw) and in retrospect, I think that sauce might have been for her dish, not mine? My meal had more in it than I expected, it was also larger than expected, and was only 645 pesos, which I believe is a very fair price for the quality received. It had tripe in it (I love tripe), and it was probably the best tasting tripe I've ever had. I also noticed something in the stew which I initially thought was a cinnamon stick, but upon prodding it, and placing it on another plate for inspection, it had skin on it, bone inside, and was gelatinous. Very confused, but also laughing and curious, I asked a waiter "what is this bro?" and surprisingly, he looked as confused as I was, and took it to the kitchen to ask. Well, it was a cow tail hahahaha. Never had one of them before for sure. The stew beef used would be one of my only criticisms though, it was quite dry and bland to be honest, however the meal notwithstanding is still five stars. Giving me the shrimp paste stuff was nice, however, probably due to my unfamiliarity, I just plopped all of it into my meal (I mean, I should have shared with my girlfriend; I just thought it was part of my meal only?). This taste was a bit too overwhelming and salty in the end though. So perhaps a smaller dish of bagoong with the meal would have actually been better. One more thing. The bar you guys have is pretty bare in all honesty. I had a craving for an oldfashioned for some reason, but you guys had no bourbon. I hope you guys can add this variety to your bar, and more specifically, I'd hope you buy Maker's Mark brand bourbon. Quite simply, it undeniably makes the best oldfashioned; don't ever settle for that bottom shelf bourbon, the better stuff is always always worth a pricier drink.
Altogether, excellent food. Will come again. Highly...

Read moreThe service was exemplary fast. I commend them for the conscious effort by serving their customers in a timely manner. One thing I found something to share about is the quality of the Hot Calamansi. My expectation was it being made from pure and freshly cut calamansi then poured into a glass mixed with of course hot water. It was the opposite when it came, it was just a dissolved agent from a clearly pre packed powder mix. When the manager asked for our opinion she said they had options for their customers— it wasn’t suggested when it was offered to us.
Another thing is the music is too loud for those who want to share intimate yet relaxing lunch or siesta time. The ambiance outside does not correspond to the vibe the establishment meant to deliver. Music should be observed at a significant loudness. It should be in the background, subtle and speak easy.
Another thing was the Lumpiang Shanghai does not live up to the traditional filipino taste served during fiestas or birthdays. It tastes regular and almost nothing remarkable when devoured.
Lastly, I would like to highlight the quality of the Bangus. It was fresh and lived up to its claim as “boneless” truly, you can chew it with its skin intact and not having a single fear of being choked by a damn fish bone.
There are a lot of things to consider especially the building is facing the infamous boulevard. My message to the team management and staff is this:
Ask yourself as to how can you be of a better place than a home. Although home is subjective. But a home can sometimes be a place, a taste of an afternoon lunch, a hot drink after a long travel or even a spot at the corner where a...
