This is where we got breakfast as part of our stay at Citadines Salcedo and we got extremely bad service today, Nov. 30, 2024. It created a very bad impression to my foreigner companion.

For starters, the wait staff were very unfriendly and lazy. We got in at a little past 9am. I understand that it was a busy time, but we felt like the staff took out their unhappiness against us. We were not greeted, and we were offered the worst table right next to the adjoining door to Citadines - without even looking inside if there were othere free tables (and there were!). We had to point out the other available tables for us to be seated more comfortably.

We ordered straightaway because we were so hungry. But the lady staff never even bothered explaining to my companion about the brewed coffee (the free breakfast set came with coffee) and just immediately wanted to charge us for extra coffee.

We did not get our brewed coffee until after 15mins, and were served our food 40 mins after ordering. No apology or free coffee whatsoever to compensate for the lateness of the food. Did not even get offered water while waiting! The staff there clearly should not be working in the food service industry. The worst part was that when we got the food, it wasn't even warm and it clearly wasn't according to instructions.

It is so frustrating and annoying that Citadines, a 4-star hotel, would partner with such a lousy establishment. We should have paid for breakfast at a different restaurant. It was the worst experience. I would give 0...

I have eaten here several times being a long stay guest at the Citadines hotel both dine in and room service. Overall, you dont get value for your money. I get more value of my money at Apartment 1B at Sedeno street with gourmet, tasty, palatable food.

Pricing: They have a weird pricing. Its obvious it was not well thought of. Most of the mains ranges from 455, 495, 515. This needs review and revision.

Food: Vietnamese beef fried noodles- good Carbonara- bland Spaghetti bolognese- just ok Eggs with bagel something - just ok Fish n chips- lacks flavour Chicken burger- lacks flavour. I had to throw away half of it. Salad’s dressing - needs improvent Eggs benedict- just ok, bring more flavour on the hollandaise Superfood smoothie-good

Coffee: They dont use/serve oatmilk as one of alternative milks. Not much option but to choose soy milk, but the brand they use tastes awful and greatly affects the coffee. Pls consider changing brands and consider oat milks in your inventory for us lactose intolerant.

Sangria- love the generosity and variety of cut fruits. But quality of wine is sub par. Pricey for 395 even if its happy hour ( buy 1 get 1)

Service: friendly, on the other hand frustrating when it comes to room charges/ f&b credits. They had to call my room 3x , 3 different people, same question. They need training...

The food was outright horrible. The experience was also very cringeee

We ordered the lamb and beef meatballs spaghetti. It was unbelievably sour. I've never had a spaghetti that sour in my life. When we raised this concern with out waitress, she said that their spaghetti is really sour and it's not Filipino Spaghetti. Girl, really??

So she suggested that we order the carbonara instead because apparently, that's not sour. (Sana naman) then she took the dish. But we really wanted the meatball sandwich and in a way my partner was na-jahe na that the dish was taken back. So decided that she'll just have it anyway.

The chef then decided to "fix" it by adding a ton of sugar. It was the most horrible spaghetti I've even had in my life. What's appalling is that instead of just making a new one and really fixing it, their chef thought that adding sugar would solve it. (Kase baka daw ata we're we were looking for Filipino spaghetti). Beats me.

And then we decided to go with a grilled cheese because who messes up a grilled cheese right?

Manifesto does. They added butter and sugar. Sweet grilled cheese.

Overall, I'd...

Was a long staying guest at Citadines but had to come here to write a separate review because the hotel experience was amazing but the restaurant needs to improve GREATLY. We had a bad tummy ache after eating the breakfast so much so that we skipped the free breakfast for the rest of our stay. The only staff who did well was Audrey/Aubrey (25 December morning shift staff), the staff who served us on 26th December didn't have comprehension skills and proper communication skills. They didn't explain how the breakfast worked properly. There were choices of ingredients for Omelette and under it said we could choose vegetables, cheese, salmon, mushrooms to be added. Little did I know, you could only choose one ingredient and need to pay for the rest. The staff gaslighted my husband and I saying she explained it clearly, the next table had the same issue which means we weren't briefed about it properly. Busy is not an excuse for treating your paying guests like that. If the previous girl could do a great job on a peak Christmas morning, so can you. Please also take note the restaurant isn't vegan and Muslim friendly.

For a daily breakfast included with my hotel stay, I wasn’t expecting much although am happy with everything about this place including the menu options, indoor or outdoor seating, relaxing background music, friendly staff (Amer and Janna), and Filipino food! This being my first vacation in Philippines, I want to try the Filipino food. Each day I’ve tried one of four Filipino breakfasts, 3 so far, and would order them all again. Living in Micronesia where there was a substantial Filipino population, I had eaten a few Filipino dishes such as chicken adobo, lumpia, pancit, etc. The Manifesto’s choices each come with the most delicious garlic rice, lightly scrambled egg - not overcooked, and an assortment of condiments. The mild fish, spiced boneless bangus, paired really well with the vinegar and pickled papaya. The lucban longanisa was delicious on its own, although also paired really well with the eggplant condiment. The beef tapa perfectly paired with the pickled papaya. So far, my favorite would be the longanisa. Tomorrow I’ll try the final option, pork Tocino. Try it, and enjoy!

Service first, it's okay cause the place is small it doesn't take them long to get back to our requests. It's just that for some unknown reasons they do not put serving spoons on the food. They saw that we are a big group we told them we are sharing when we ordered. Price - somewhat pricey. Food - The salads are okay and the oat. Most of the dishes are for sharing or something you need to share cause it's very hard to finish it by yourself. Either the food is bland or rich. The lamb and meatball sandwich - the bread is too thick and oversize for the filling. The meatballs was cut in half and you can only find them in the middle, it's like 50% of the sandwich is empty.
