We tried this coffee shop after 2023 ends, and I would say it's definitely worth the visit. Their coffee really tastes so good!!! It pales in comparison with SB's or any other coffee shops we've been to. I tried their sea salt latte, and it didn't disappoint. You could really tell the coffee's organic flavor profile, and you could tell it was not diluted by excess ice or flavorings.
One thing I noticed though is the quality of their cup. It's obviously made out of low-quality disposable thin plastic.
Another bummer I would say is their service. We felt like the cashier and the other staff were not accommodating compared to other cafes. The cashier didn't even bother greeting us or saying thank you. No smile whatsoever. Nada. Mind you, the queue wasn't even that long that time. There's also that air of disinterest and dissatisfaction among their baristas. Seems like they are bored or sad for a reason.
Also seems like they have an English-only policy here. We were talking to the cashier in Filipino but he kept on answering in English. Just kinda feels off and intimidating.
Their comfort room is also nowhere to be found. Seems like it's outside their premises or whatever. I asked the other guy, and he instructed me well, but I couldn't find it. The one he told me seems like a completely different building altogether.
They're pet friendly though. We saw someone with her dog in the shop. There were also enough seats and tables available. Just wasn't able to take pictures of them. (I'll just add when I come back).
They also have coffee supplies on display, from coffee machines to coffee beans, but I doubt anyone's interested to accommodate your inquiries anyway. I heard their MOA store is a lot more accommodating than this. My friend even told me he was asked which coffee blends/single origin beans he would want for his order; something that we didn't experience in their Makati store.
It was a decent experience anyway. Just felt like it could have...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVisiting Yardstick in Legazpi was an absolute delight, bringing back fond memories of my old neighborhood. The first thing that struck me was the chic and elegant architecture; itās modern yet welcoming. Upon entering, I was greeted by smiling staff who promptly took my order. Despite the place being busy, there was plenty of seating, and the comfortable AC made the atmosphere perfect for relaxing.
Following my husbandās solid recommendation, I ordered the sea salt latte, carrot cheesecake, and their famous Makati waffles. After a short wait (though I wouldnāt have minded even 30 minutes), my order was ready. The barista kindly offered to help carry my items and even brought a cup with bottled water, which I greatly appreciated.
The sea salt latte was the first thing I tried, and it was amazing; perfectly blended and incredibly refreshing after my 30 minute walk. Next, the carrot cheesecake, which I usually wouldnāt order, turned out to be a revelation; moist, flavorful, and simply divine. Lastly, the Makati waffles exceeded expectations. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, paired with cream and caramel dip, it was the perfect sweet breakfast treat.
Everything about this visit was perfect, from the attentive and friendly staff to the relaxing ambiance and top-tier service. I canāt wait to go back and try other dishes, like their truffle pasta.
5/5āsuperb in every way. Yardstick is a gem I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent at their Makati branch to try their seasalt latte. Coffee has no hint of seasalt in it which is fine prolly because they have a lot of customers which might affect with the quality of their coffee preparation.
The deal breaker of our experience was their kinda rude staff. We politely followed up with one of our orders and we were asked to hand in our receipt. She reviewed it and responded āthe cashier didnāt inform you with the serving time?ā I responded āhindi poā she then went and say āIāll ask the cashier and verifyā in a condensing manner. We followed up politely, so the expectation is sheāll at least respond the same way. Itās not her job to verify with the cashier if we were informed, she couldāve set the expectations with us herself and assured us that they are working on prepping the order. That act is much simpler rather than waiting for the cashier to finish taking up orders and verifying if we were informed or not.
A lot of customer service skills practice has to be in place considering that this store has a lot...
