Certainly! Here’s a sample review for your order from Nomu Cafe Makati through Grab:
I recently ordered from Nomu Cafe Makati via Grab and had a mixed experience. Here’s a quick rundown of the items:
Spanish Shakerato (16oz - Medium) - At ₱190, this was a refreshing and flavorful coffee choice. The balance of sweetness and bold espresso stood out, though it leaned slightly on the sweeter side. Great for those who enjoy a dessert-like coffee.
Nomu Latte (Small - Iced) - Priced at ₱130, this was a well-executed, creamy latte with a strong espresso base. It had a good balance of milk and coffee, making it an enjoyable, straightforward option.
Knafeh Chocolate Pistachio - For ₱210, I had high hopes for this pastry, but it was a bit of a letdown. While the chocolate and pistachio flavors were nice, the texture was not as satisfying as expected, even when warmed. It lacked the gooey indulgence often associated with knafeh.
Pain Au Chocolat - At ₱150, this was a better pastry option. When warmed, the chocolate was rich, and the layers were flaky, though it could have been more buttery.
French Butter Croissant - For ₱130, this croissant was good but not exceptional. Warming it helped bring out the butteriness, but it felt a bit dry compared to other cafes.
Overall: While the coffee impressed with its flavors and balance, the pastries were hit or miss. The effort to warm the items was appreciated, but the croissant and knafeh could use improvement. Still, I would order the coffee again and maybe explore other pastry options...
Read moreOrdered from Grab. I don't blame the rider at all as his bag was properly packed, but I wouldn't recommend this cafe for takeaway orders via rider.
Lots of spillage in the plastic I received it in. I've ordered lots of coffees from different cafes and the standard has been to add parchment paper as a seal to prevent spillage and it's been effective. The cups I received had no parchment paper and while thought was taken to make sure it was taped, it doesn't do anything for the leak no matter what. If you're the type to also swirl your drink regardless if you got it through Grab, you might also experience this sadly :/
The cup lid itself doesn't seem to serve a purpose other than to cover the cup because if ordering a hot drink, the cup has a lid clearly meant for something with a straw. Drinking it out of the lid isn't comfortable and invites more spillage. I was better off taking the whole lid off and drinking it that way. Inconvenient but better than what I had initially.
As for drinks, I don't recommend the Spanish latte if you like the general flavor of one. Tastes quite watery vs all of the other SLs I've tried and feels light on the condensed milk, which is kind of a letdown. After reading another review on sweetness, it would be nice if they also just allowed an extra option on their Grab page for us to select sweetness as first time customers wouldn't know if they cater to that request vs putting it in notes
Otherwise decent but probably...
Read moreFor a cafe situated in makati, menu is very affordable and yummy! I reco matcha milktea, white choco mocha (dark), wintermelon milktea, truffle pizza, pain au chocolat. Drinks cost around 100-200+. Pastries cost around 100+. Food cost around 300+. They have cool artwork/edited nomu shirts. I love the interior, neat and pretty. Restroom is outside, but still near, its inside part of the building. Service can take quite a bit of time, but not super long maybe around 15-20 minutes? Servers are more straightforward but still polite, just let them know what you need. Only cons: (1) the whole cafe is quite small, only has about 5-6 tables, cannot accommodate super big families, but customers dont take quite long; (2) kitchen and coffee tools can be loud and disrupt conversations (but I did not mind); (3) when they were cooking (like pizza), the whole cafe can smell (yung usok), be ready na mangamoy usok (pero hindi mausok sa loob na parang samgyup lol).
But overall I loved my experience at nomu cafe, I loved the drinks and food, super affordable 💖 I can reco, I'll try to come back sooon. (an...
