Restaurant Interior is very bright, lively, inviting, and spacious, giving many options for seat preferences unless the place is already full. Restaurant is a head-turner, though I've passed it a number of times to go to the escalator or parking only.
Curry Chicken Karaage These were super good with a crunchy, powdery coating and soft, hot, white meat! I need not say more. Good!
Nagi Chips We grabbed the Butao flavor since we wanted to start with something basic and original. It's actually very salty so just a heads-up. It's good, but again, very salty.
Pork Katsu Roll It's very delicious especially at the first bite. Expect it to be filling so sharing would be ideal. I find it a bit expensive though.
Ramen Quality Black King Ramen is so good I definitely want to try other flavors. The ramen options are few and easy to select based on color. Every ingredient is perfect to my liking and the hard noodles are amazing! Prepare to be laughed at if you don't wipe your lips with tissue. Your "evacuation" may go to the dark side as well but the force will guide you, possibly for two days; it shouldn't be alarming though.
Ramen Quantity Serving size is very generous, guaranteeing a temporary keg belly afterwards. I cannot fathom how other customers have room to add Kaedama (extra noodles) though. I've seen two people do it, one being my friend.
Service I can't say it's extraordinary though I see possibilities with this branch. I appreciate that the crew proactively gave advice after we encircled our ramen preferences on the ordering slip. Don't expect it, though; sometimes you need to ask too. Ok fine, I'll say...
Read moreBeen quite a while since I've eaten at Ramen Nagi. It is always nice to be able to personalize your order via choosing the type of your soup base, your topping, the spiciness of your Butao sauce to the firmness of your noodle.
Ramen Nagi has been in the Philippines since 2013. It's the first Japanese Ramen shop that I lined up for here in the country when it opened its first ramen shop at SM Aura in BGC.
I've always liked the Red King. I especially like the ball of miso-infused minced pork in a velvety red sea of garlic, cayenne pepper and chili oil. Their version of the Tantanmen. This goes for P480.
Last year, they came out with a limited special supposedly that turned out to be a hit for them. Their answer to Yushoken's and Mendokoro's Super Chashu, the Wonder Chashu King at P510. The pork is not as thick and tender as Mendokoro's but smokier in flavor because the thick pork belly is braised then torched. It brought back a lot of interest to Ramen Nagi since they were the original straight from Japan ramen place but was overtaken by Yushoken/Mendokoro in terms of top-of-mind appeal to Ramen lovers. Funny, that the twins Yushoken and Mendokoro though drawing inspiration and guidance from actual Japanese Ramen masters, these restaurants are home grown and local.
We also had their Karaage (P350) and Gyoza (P285) as...

This area in Greenbelt is lined up with restaurants but Ramen Nagi is still packed with customers. This says a lot about their service and food.
I've been eating at Ramen Nagi for a few years, but I usually go to their Valero branch since it's closer.
Ordering - you can create your own ramen with the options available, see the picture. You can also just tick the Chef's choice and they will give you the day's best. Alternatively, select a rice meal and not ramen. I tried several options in the past and the Red King has been my go to.
Ambience - the place is lively. The staff are quick to attend to your needs. I asked one of the staff if they could just leave the pitcher because I kept on asking for water, but he said they only do refills. The order was also quick to arrive, which I liked.
Price - I think the price is not cheap since I've been to cheaper ramen houses but they merit the price, because comparing them to cheaper options, I will always prefer this.
Ramen - as mentioned earlier, you can build your own ramen so it totally depends on you. I liked mine with smaller noodles but harder. I want to feel the noodles and bite it a bit. It's quite spicy, my option, and I always use a lot of napkins for my sweats.
Overall, I'm happy to continue coming back...
