Walked from Makati City Hall to Jazz Residences and looking for soemthing to eat. To be honest this is not our first choice. Thry just opened when we arrived, no one is really in the resto except for one who seems to be an owner or manager eating in the corner. I usually don't try ramen in an un familiar resto if not recommended by a friend, I mean, there's no okay ramen. It's either so good or so bad. That's why I just decided on getting Beef Tendon Curry for myself. Miso Soup - This so good. One of the best I tried. It might be a liitle salty for other, but perfect for me. Made me think they have good ramen because of this. Katsu - we ordered this one for sharing. It's ok. Not so tender but ok. Karaage - It looks burnt but not really when you tried it. A little bland but compensated by the sauce. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. The main event!!! Beef Tendon Curry - a bit underwhelming. Curry sauce is too sour for me. Because this is recommended by the waiters I have a little expectation that this will blow my mind, but no. The meat is not tender even if it's tendon. I usually order extra rice but this one I really hate the sauce. Overall, it's a good experience specially the staff are friendly and cer attentive. Love the ambiance. Very Japan-Japan HAHAHA Will go back if I'm around. Will try their ramen next time.

We ordered : Agedashi tofu - we were surprised with the blocks of tofu. It was quite huge and not the usual serving size. The sauce was sweet - a bit of surprise as well. I think they are trying to experiment on the taste. 3.5/5 Chashu ramen - The serving is good for 2 people to share. The soup is light and has plenty of pork slices. No special taste whatsoever. 3.5/5 Salmon lovers platter - This is our favorite. Serving size is bigger than your average nigiri and salmon sashimi. Masarap yung salmon! Spicy tuna roll and tuna maki are also good. 4.5/5 Gyoza - 5 pcs of above average sized Gyoza. The taste is just okay. 3.5/5 Service - 5/5

I had mixed emotions entering this branch to try out this restaurant chain, which I've never tried before. The menu was printed sheets in a plastic folder - not a red flag on its own, but with prices of ramen close to Ramen Nagi or Ippudo, my expectations were immediately raised. And then the food arrived. Served in a large bowl, but only half filled. Red flag. Misleading to a certain extent. The tempura was great. Ramen, not so. Their curry just lacked a bit of kick that you'd expect. Overall, it may have been my raised expectations that were wrong, but I was underwhelmed.

If you are expecting decent ramen this place falls to do even that. The broth and noodles are subpar, even when they are trying to experiment on the flavors. Noodles were under cooked and barely warm with a four aftertaste. Broth had no depth in flavor like you would expect in a Japanese ramen shop. Gyoza was mushy, bottom was not crispy, which the waitress said if I wanted crispy I should have ordered the deep fried version. I mean she’s not wrong but I did ordered the pan fried and traditionally pan fried gyoza is crispy on the bottom where you “pan fry” it? Even the pork meat in the gyoza was questionable in texture and flavor. There is a positive to this and it’s the chicken karaage, it was fried well. Skin was crispy and the meat still juicy and tender. The coke with ice...

EDIT: My comment below about being smoky is no longer true as of today (July 2017). It's nice that there is improvement on the ambience after 7 months (I'll change my rating from 3 stars to 4). The food is still good. I'll definitely come back. But waiters and the cooks are noisy, they laugh and speak so loud. I can hear their chismaks.

      • OLD COMMENT - - - - The Ramen I had was good, big serving for a reasonable price. But the place is too smokey, it's like the kitchen has no exhaust that all the smoke goes into the dining area. To have your clothes smell like a pan of food is one thing, but not to be able to breathe is really something else which is very serious. It made me sneeze several times, good thing I don't...
