Soban K-Town Grill in Greenbelt, Makati, promises a taste of Korean BBQ but unfortunately falls short in several key areas, making it a less-than-ideal dining destination.

Starting with the food, Soban K-Town Grill offers a variety of Korean BBQ dishes, but the quality is underwhelming. The meats and side dishes lack the robust flavors typically associated with Korean cuisine. The seasoning and marinades are bland, resulting in a dining experience that fails to deliver the expected savory and spicy notes. Additionally, the freshness of some ingredients can be questionable, detracting further from the overall taste.

The concept of self-cooking at the table is a staple of Korean BBQ, but at Soban K-Town Grill, it becomes more of a hassle than an enjoyable experience. The restaurant's ventilation system is inadequate, leading to a smoky and uncomfortably hot environment. This makes the dining experience less pleasant, as the heat and smoke can quickly become overwhelming, particularly during busy times when multiple tables are grilling at once.

Customer service is another area where Soban K-Town Grill disappoints. The staff often appear disorganized and inattentive, leading to long wait times for orders to be taken and food to be served. Requests for assistance, whether for additional side dishes or help with the grill, are often met with delays or ignored altogether. This lack of attentive service can leave patrons feeling frustrated and neglected.

The ambiance of the restaurant further detracts from the dining experience. The layout and decor are functional but lack the inviting warmth and comfort that enhance a meal. Combined with the heat and smoke, the atmosphere becomes less enjoyable and more of a challenge to endure.

In summary, Soban K-Town Grill in Greenbelt, Makati, falls short in providing a satisfying Korean BBQ experience. The food lacks flavor, the self-cook setup is hindered by poor ventilation, and the customer service is subpar. While the concept has potential, significant improvements are needed in food quality, service, and overall environment to make it a worthwhile dining option. For now, those seeking a pleasant and flavorful Korean BBQ experience may want to explore other options...

Soban is one of the many Korean restaurants servings Authentic Korean Cuisine in Metro Manila. So what will make it stand out among the rest? It's the SERVICE.

Last night, we went here to have our dinner. It was a hassle-free night because we were able to have a table for 2 in 3 minutes. We ordered Kimchi Fries, K-Taco and Dad's Ultimate BBQ set for 2. The set includes 180g Woo Samgyup (Fresh Beef Belly), 180g Samgyupsal (Pork Belly with your choice of Original, Fruity or Soy Garlic flavor), Dak Ganjeong (Caramelized Fried Chicken), Gyeranjjim (Egg Casserole) plus Unlimited Kimchi Fried Rice or White Rice, Unlimited Soup and Unlimited Side Dishes with Coffee Crepe Dessert and 2 Bottomless Iced Tea/Hot Tea.

While waiting for our orders to arrive, I heard staff blaming each other for not giving service to the other table. "Kung hindi pa ako dumating, hindi pa kayo kikilos. Tingnan nyo ang table dun walang may nag aassist." Given the fact that they have enough staff in the dining area, this should not be a problem.

Few minutes later, the staff provided the side dishes. He provided one for each side dish. The question here, why couldn't he provided two for each side dish to make it more convenient for the diners? Why only one for each dish the fact that these are unlimited? They should have initiative and common sense to do this all the time.

Our orders arrived. The Dad's Ultimate BBQ set was really good. Fresh Meat and Fresh Lettuce. The K-Taco, a mix of Korean and Mexican, was also good. The Kimchi Fries tasted really weird. The Kimchi made the fries soggy to the point that we didn't enjoy eating it. We decided to take it home. For the set, the staff only provided us one plate of Lettuce Wraps which only had 3 pieces. Come on!

Refilling of side dishes, Iced Tea and Lettuce Wraps became a problem. The staff were not so attentive of our requests. We repeated many times until they provided what we need. This was really annoying! Not even a Manager in sight when an accident happened where drinking glasses slipped and fell from the hands of the staff and broken pieces scattered everywhere.

We had a high expectation for this place but we were really...

We recently had the pleasure of dining at a fantastic Korean restaurant, and let me tell you, it was an experience for the taste buds! From the moment the main dishes arrived, it was clear that the kitchen knows its stuff. The food was incredibly delicious, hitting all the right savory and umami notes that Korean cuisine is famous for. The meat was exceptionally tender, practically melting in my mouth with each bite – a true testament to their preparation.

The service was also commendable. The staff were attentive and friendly, making sure our table was well taken care of. They were polite and readily available to assist with any requests. The only minor hiccup during the meal was the slowness in replenishing the side dishes. While the initial spread was generous and tasty, the refills took a little longer than we would have liked. However, this small point was quickly overshadowed by the absolute star of the show: their mango dessert. Oh. My. Goodness. This dessert was a revelation! The sweetness of the mango was perfectly balanced, and it provided a delightful and refreshing end to a wonderful meal. It was so outstanding that it's something I'll definitely be thinking about (and craving!) until my next visit.

Overall, this Korean restaurant is a gem. The quality of the main dishes and the exceptional mango dessert far outweigh the slight delay in side dish refills. I highly recommend giving this place a try if you're looking for authentic and delicious Korean food with a sweet and...

We ordered the set meal for four. Restaurant – The place was cool, spacious, and well-ventilated. Their restroom was also clean. Banchan – I wish they offered a wider variety of included/free banchan. Compared to other samgyupsal restaurants, Soban’s selection seems a bit limited. However, the ones they do provide taste great and fresh. Meat – The servings were incredibly generous! Even though it wasn’t unlimited, I’d say it was totally worth it. They offer a good variety of meats, and the quality is excellent. They didn’t seem like the usual frozen kind to me. Staff – Very accommodating. The staff was friendly and easy to call if we needed anything. I wouldn’t give them a perfect score, though, because they sometimes forgot our requests (like chopsticks, straws, etc.), and there were occasional delays in refilling the banchan. But again, it wasn’t a big issue since they were kind and approachable. Overall – We had a great dining experience here! Their set meals are definitely worth it for me.
