Eid mornings have always had a special rhythm for us — wake up early, head to the Indonesian Embassy for Eid prayer, then straight to Pondok Rasa for our traditional post-prayer breakfast feast. But last Eid, our hearts sank a little when we arrived and found Pondok Rasa had closed its doors for good.
Alhamdulillah, after some online sleuthing, we struck gold — Wardo Restaurant. They open as early as 8AM (Eid miracle, right?) and are conveniently nestled in Valero, just a stone’s throw from our other favorite, Sultan Grill. Even from the outside, Wardo was beaming with Eid spirit — festive decorations and all — it felt like we were meant to find it.
Inside, it was a flavor-packed reunion with our Indonesian favorites: beef rendang that melts in your mouth, fragrant nasi goreng, comforting nasi lemak and juicy chicken satay that came with the most delicious peanut sauce we’ve had in a while. And let’s not forget their milk teh — silky, creamy, happiness in a cup. The portions? Generous. The prices? Wallet-friendly. The vibe? Warm and festive.
If you’re on the hunt for authentic Indonesian food that hits the spot without breaking the bank, Wardo might just become your new go-to. We’re definitely coming back — maybe even before...
Read moreCouldn’t make 0 star so I need to make 1. So here’s the thing: I walked in as the first batch for the restaurant at the midnight and ordering a take-away meal with my colleague (1x fried rice & 1x fried noodles) , during that time they was like busy about the online order and delivery
Afterwards there’s other customer walked in , so from what I have noticed they didn’t pre-order the meal as they still looking on the menu for what they should have the food.
After we have waiting for about half an hour, the other customer food is arrived (they go for dine-in) . I question the staff about it and she said because we were for take-out?
DONT YOU THINK THERE’S A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE POLICY AMONG TO ALL CUSTOMER BESIDES YOUR ONLINE ORDERS?
We still waiting for the answer and food however we didn’t get any and the staff was trying to avoid us, right until the next table who is after us are serving their meals, I cancel the order and step out from the restaurant.
It was my first time writing here with my anger and also to advise each of you who have saw this: be prepare to face the same for what I have encountered and this is not my FIRST TIME!
Thank you...
Read moreWardo, an Indonesian restaurant, proved to be a delightful dining experience. Their beef rendang stood out for its exceptional flavor, a perfect blend of spices and tender beef that easily makes it the best I've had (warning: super spicy!) The fried noodles, featuring chicken and wide rice noodles, were equally impressive. Each bite offered a burst of flavor, complemented by generous and well-cooked chicken chunks. The new chicken nugget appetizer, whose name escapes me, was a fantastic addition to the meal – crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor.
The wintermelon juice was a refreshing accompaniment, balancing the rich and savory flavors of the meal. It's clear that Wardo pays attention to the quality and taste of their dishes, as everything we tried was wonderful. The service was attentive and the ambiance inviting, making the overall experience even more enjoyable.
For two people, the meal cost 1,100 pesos, which felt like excellent value for the quality and quantity of food served. Wardo has certainly earned a return visit, and I would highly recommend it to anyone craving authentic...
