Boodle Haus Resto Seafoods Paluto — Restaurant in Malay

Worst service in the island or maybe even the whole country. We called ahead of time for the package that we wanted to do at 7 pm. We got there like 7:05 pm just a little late and I notified restaurant we were here and they haven't even started preparing our table. We did not get seating until about 40 minutes later 7:45 PM with 9 of us sitting outside starting to fall asleep.

When we finally got seated, I basically had to keep bugging them and keep going up to the cashier desk of the restaurant to get a drink order in. When they finally came to get our order, the lady she didn't even write anything down. She went through the drink order of the whole table without writing anything down and when we finished, she turned to me and said somewhere along the lines of "how many drinks of this and this again?". Then I calmly said "I don't know do you want me to write it down for you?". She tried repeating the drink order and I just said sure to just have some kind of drink on our table. Not sure how many extra drinks we ended up getting.

Our package came with soup and I had walked up to the cashier counter right when we got our soup for some bowls. Every time our server came by I always asked her for bowls as well. We never got the bowls until we were basically done eating. We were all too full already and the soup was cold.

We asked for a fan for our big group because I was so hot inside, they said they'll bring more fans out. They never brought the fans out.

The presentation and the food was good but the service was terrible and the place was a dump. I would not recommend tourists coming to this spot to have a good experience, there are other boodle fight places along the beach that you might have...

We regret dinning at this restaurant. Their staff are liars, they'll say it's ₱500 per kilo for all seafood except lobster (staff named Junjun), and before we ordered, we even asked if there were any hidden charges aside from the service charge, and they said “Wala”. You'll just be surprised by the bill. Even our fellow customers were disappointed and shocked with their bills. It's better to just go to known buffet restaurants like hennan, mandarin bay, etc. and you might get more value for your money. We were shocked to find out we had to pay ₱5,000+ thinking it would only be around ₱2,000+ even our orders doesn’t look like it was worth 5k. They'll give you a receipt that doesn't itemize your orders. Thankfully, we thought to ask for an itemized receipt, and that's when we found out about all the hidden charges – service fee, cooking charge fee. Never again! I can’t recommend this place, they're just taking advantage of tourists (mas lalo na siguro sa mga foreigners)! From the location (nasa talipapa sila, na sobrang liblib), the appearance of the place (air-conditioned pero honestly parang karenderya lang), to the customer service (misleading, liar hindi nagsasabi ng totoo, saka nalang pag tapos na kayong kumain) – 100% not...

I was excited to eat at this place and I chose this as my first meal of my trip. Well this was a mistake. Last night I spent the whole night at the hotel with food poisoning. I was so close to going to the emergency room and now my boyfriend is also experiencing it as well. The oysters were not fresh, you can taste the shell on each one. Everything else was okay. The presentation was nice and the owner and workers were also kind. I just wish the seafood was fresh! Now I can’t trust any seafood...
