Lunch and learn interview Feb27, 2025*
A hidden gem of a cafe in a museum. Small, cozy nooks and crannies for those looking for a quiet space and a breather.
May not be as noticeable from outside especially to passersby. There are 'blockers' that give the impression area is 'off limits' so do ask guards for directions going in. 😉
They've salads, sauces, sandwiches, pastries, cakes, juices, coffee and non-coffee. Went in during lunchtime and already had lunch, so ordered cold salted caramel and lemon cookie, and black for my companion. Spanish coffee was as expected. The lemon cookie tasted like Mary Grace lemon squares!
As expected the tables were filled with mostly Landbank employees. (Their office is super nearby)
There's more seats outdoor where you've a view of the Manila Bay and Roxas blvd, and if you're ok with the heat. 4 tables meant 'for sharing' indoors, but comfortable seating for 3 small groups (of 2-4).
Option to stay in 'the library area' which is on the other side of the cashier (indoor). Just need to pay Php50 per head to get a more 'private' and quiet spot surrounded by artworks.
Bathroom is at the lower ground floor, so you need to go outside the cafe to access.
Would go back if I was in the Roxas Blvd area and wanted some...
Read moreCame here after seeing a TikTok video saying this is a cafe with a library! The video was misleading lol.
Right off the bat, if you’re coming here for the selection of books, please manage your expectations as access is only limited to the first floor. The second floor, which is the main library, is exclusive for researchers and you will need to book an appointment for it.
Now we talk about the food, their pricing is reasonable. We ordered the 4 Cheese Pizza as we already had coffee elsewhere and it was good. It’s more of a flatbread than a pizza but the taste was on point and they give free hot sauce, chili pepper and service water.
If you’re here to work, there are charging sockets per table/table cubicle and the wifi is also decent.
For anyone bringing a vehicle, you can pin Diamond Hotel and there’s a parking beside it.
We were able to finish some deliverables here so I’d recommend this place if you’re looking for somewhere less crowded, and away from the chismis vibe in usual cafes 🤣 just make sure to manage your expectations on the...
Read moreWe expect too much for this place. For the food, we tried their Putanesca and it disappoint. Alam ko lasa ng legit na Putanesca and their version of it fail to impress. Buti na lang generous ang serving ng dalandan cooler to clean the palate. Not too sweet not too sour. Maybe their other menu taste promising but the Putanesca is 👎.
The highlight of the place is their library but to be honest, it's a bit uncomfy for me. Medyo masikip lalo when most of the customers were busy taking photos for their social media accounts. No seats for 1 or 2 people. We have no option but to seat on their dining table along with a group of people. Sarado din yung 2nd floor when we visit. Mas ok pa umupo sa harap ng counter nila or outside since mahangin. If flexing for your MyDay photo ang prio mo then the place is for you since it's more of a studio than it being a library.
However, their redeeming factor is their customer service. Magalang ang staff and...
